Now I'm a bit lost. I was really opting for the Almera 1.5 E AT priced at P762k (P702k if cash?). But when I told my friend and asked about his opinion, he said the car is okay, but he warned me that I might have problems with the spare parts in the future. I told him that the Almera is made here, but he still insisted.

Before, I was also opting for Mirage G4 GLX CVT priced at P685K. But, I'm a bit concerned about the 1.2L 3-cyl engine & CVT tranny because we usually go to airport with 3 adults + driver + 3 toddlers. My brother's Honda City could easily handle that load, but with the G4, I'm a bit worried.

I may just go with Vios in the end.

I am thinking about getting a 2nd-hand Nissan Almera (2013), top of the line (daw).

I am going to see it for the first time tomorrow. My questions are:

1) What should I look out for?
2) Are the owners of this model and year having problems now that I should look out for? What are they, kung mayroon man?

Spare parts? I don't think may issue dito ang nissan.
Marami jan sa evangelista at banawe. Well known ang nissan dito at matagal na sila dito.

Sobrang kaunti lang po kasi ng Almera user dito and even on the road kaya siguro wala masyadong makapag-bigay ng advice.

Anyway, may nakausap na ako na Almera user and ang sabi po niya eh halos lahat naman ng cars ay nagkaka-problema at hindi excempted ang Almera dun. Ang known issues po ng Almera daw ay yung sa wheel bearing po niya, pero, once napagawa naman daw sa casa, okay na siya. Tapos, may iilanilan din na may issues sa fan and maingay sa brakes. And the usual na nagmo-moist yung headlights. Lahat daw po ng issues na to, swertihan lang daw. Wag ka lang sana matsambahan. Hindi naman lahat ng Almera may sakit.

Wow, super comfortable talaga niya for both passenger at sa driver. Super luwag talaga and hindi matagtag habang umaandar.

Satisfied ako. Kung magka-issue man, at least alam ko na.

Wala pang 1 month sakin yung sasakyan boss. March 3 ako nag-down tapos March 20 na-release sasakyan ko may OR/CR na. Hindi ko kasi kinuha agad yung unit hanggat wala pang OR/CR. Pero, overall, nice experience ang transaction ko.

About sa car, you either like it or not dahil sa itsura. Some say it's ugly, I on the other hand find it nice. And dito pumasok yung isa sa logic ko na would I buy a car for others, or would I buy a car for my family? Comfort wise, parang hindi siya sub-compact car. Parang Altis ang loob niya in terms of leg room and head clearance. Tsaka hindi siya matagtag kahit sa humps at lubak. Very smooth driving talaga. Totally satisfied ako sa Almera and wala akong purchase remorse or whatever they call it na nagco-compensate dahil pinagsisisihan yung purchase. Wala akong pinagsisisihan boss. Take note, P762k ang SRP ng Almera 1.5 E AT. I could easily get G4 GLX CVT or spread my budget a little to get Vios or City.

Anyway, I wouldn't advice that you get a second hand Almera. Not unless you trust the owner. May common issues kasi ang Almera which never ko pa naman na-experience. But in terms of comfort, the AC and the legroom is the best. Smooth sa loob kahit lubak lubak sa daan. Try mo i-test drive, matutuwa ka. Just my opinion lang.

Just travelled from Quezon City to Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora and back this May 4-6, 2017... using 2016 Nissan Almera 1.5V automatic.

Total Kms travelled: 570kms. Total average fuel consumption: 12km/l. Going there, average of 80-100 km/h = achieved a very economical 17-18 km/l (nlex-sctex average). Fuel economy went down due to traffic in Cabanatuan area. Also fuel economy went down going up Sierra Madre Mountains (I took Pantabangan-Capili-Maria Aurora route). Medyo hataw paakyat with aircon on. Good power but you have to shift down early to 2 or 1 (especially on steep uphill areas)... can overtake other vehicle even on incline. NOTE: I'm a very experienced mountain pass driver, honed my skills in Dalton Pass and also Kennon/Marcos highway mountain pass, so i would say i have above average skills, even with fast pace, i can be safe as well.

Going back, i didnt want to reach home late at night, so i had faster pace on the mountain pass... Also, there was a 2016 Strada tailgating so I drove fast uphill.... good handling even when fully loaded (comfy ride, but a little bit body roll sa corners), and can I can even see the Strada struggling to keep up with me on the steep inclines, i just kept the gear in 2 position, hitting 5k rpm at times, and shifting to 1 before going in onto the hairpin turns. On the flat land area, going to Cabanatuan, a 2017 Super Grandia 3.0 was also tailgating (sobra kasi dikit ng dikit sa likod ko kahit 80-100 km/h), but nung nag sabay kami mag accelerate from 20km/h tapos hataw (we both slowed due to tricycles), iwan ko na siya from 80km/h to 140 km/h. Lets just say hindi na nagtailgate yung Grandia after that. Hehe.

At SCTEX, i averaged 110-120km/h but there was a time i hit 150km/h just to test the car. Even had detour at Clark going back. At NLEX, if u turn overdrive button off, you can accelerate from 100km/h to 140 km/h at a faster rate. Very stable handling even at fast speeds (my Almera has factory ducktail spoiler, can feel downforce above 120 km/h), yet comfortable on bumps and uneven surfaces.

Total fuel consumption estimated at P1,900-2,000 for round trip... although to be honest nagapakarga ako 'mostly' at Flying V in Carmen/Zaragoza N.E., P33.65 lang per liter ang unleaded doon (no typo.. its cheaper by 10 pesos compared to manila).

Roomy cabin/legroom for the kids at the back. Lots of space for all our gear. Superb cold aircon even in hot summer weather. Light steering wheel, although could use more feedback feel. Again, comfortable & soft suspension, would be better if a notch firmer (for fast drivers) but in most cases, gives better, supple ride. 1.5 engine is just right for the balanced mix of power and fuel economy. The auto tranny though was a bit slow to decide for my taste when going uphill (it sometimes gear hunts), so best to take control (by shifting manually) when needed. Also, I advise to downshift manually on downhill turns for engine braking and avoid overheated brakes.

Compared to Vios 1.3 matic and Mirage G4 1.2 cvt matic (which i have both owned already), the Almera is the better car in terms of space, comfort and power. It may not have a lot of HP, but the torque is good for its class/segment (Nissan trait talaga ang torquey engines).

No issues with my unit in terms of said known issues reported here in tsikot, except maybe for the noisy brake pads (squeals when cold/first few mins of driving)... now gone though... maybe the long distance drive took out the "glazed" brake pad material off (kung baga, bagong "tasa" ang brake pads & discs ko ngayon). Some issues could be isolated cases only though.

Hope this helps. The Almera is really just an underrated car but good overall package.

+1 for this. In my opinion, the only reason why it's not selling that much is because it's caught in the middle. Nissan made the pricing for this car wrong that it was caught in the middle of 2 best selling sub-compact cars now, the Vios and Mirage G4. I have the Nissan Almera 1.5 E AT priced at P762,000.

So, here's the deal:

Vios 1.3 E AT * P812,000 - why would I choose Almera if I only stretch my budget by P50,000, I'll get the reliable Toyota

Mirage G4 1.2 GLX CVT * P700,000 - why would I choose Almera when I could save P62,000 for a fuel efficient G4

Anyway, comfort wise, space, handling and AC... my Almera surely never got me down. A keeper for me.
