nag pa engine swap kasi yung lolo ko. from gas to diesel. so yung lumang gas engine eh balak ibenta na lang. mga magkano kaya to pwede ibenta? tinanong ng erpat ko sa surplusan 4500 lang daw kasama transmission! parang sobrang baba naman ata non.
tingin niyo magkano kaya? wala ako alam sa presyo ng ganito eh. kung part by part na lang kaya? mas ok kaya yun?

Given it's not a popular engine, since it's not very fuel efficient or powerful, that's about right. You could probably sell it for more to an interested buyer (maybe up to 8k), but most buyers looking for rear-wheel drive gasoline engines will be going for SR20s (for power) or 4K or other Toyota mills, for the economy.

Yeah, you could likely earn much more... Compressors can go for 3-6k depending on type and quality... starter and alternator are extra pa...

*shadow, not! pinipigilan na namin yun nung sinabi na papalitan pero mukhang na brainwash na nung mekaniko. main purpose lang is para tumipid sa gas. kung pinang gas na lang din yung ginamit sa engine swap madami ng mabibili yun. bago mabawi yung difference sa gastos sa gas baka sira na yung vanette hindi pa rin nababawi. kinompute ng erpat ko nasa 7-8km/l lang daw yung bagong engine na kinabit. hindi ko alam FC nung dating gas engine pero siguro hindi naman 1km/l. hehehe. baka nasa 5-6 siguro yun.
minsan mga matatanda mahirap pigilan eh. hehehe

Well... part of the problem is the layout of the Vanette. With the high temps of the under-seat engine bay, which is even tighter than in similar vans like the L300, getting an engine to work efficiently is a problem. Might also not have the proper gearing to get good economy.
Sayang naman yung gas engine, even if I think it's a pile of... alam mo na... hahaha... (had one before and have two relatives with Vanettes)... maybe you could use it in an owner-type? Siguro a non-running owner-type shell won't cost so much nowadays. A 2-liter engine, no matter how gutless, should feel amazing in a light owner-type. Hehehe...

*niky, not an option na yung owner type jeep. baka hindi lang maasikaso kasi may kalampagin din kaming nissan sentra. hehehe. saka nagbenta na rin dati ng owner type kasi hindi nagagamit. pero pinapapost na nga sa akin sa internet eh. parang ayoko kasi nanghihinayang ako sa makina. haha
