newbies query

hello to all,
im new here and also relatively new in cars... i just purchased a nissan lec july last year. so far the car as one reliable ride. just recently i installed a CAI to the carbureted engine and it performed well. a little power gain, and a more responsive engine. my question is compared to the stock engine, mas madaling makuha ang ideal temp nya. or it warms up more easily. smooth naman ang takbo ng engine either idle or at speeds. and i noticed lagi ng nasa half yung temp guage every time i drive. short trip man or long trip... normal lang ba yun? di pa namn sya nag ooverheat. pero mas mainit na sya kesa dati... all replies will be appreciated... thanks..

sir, you mean to say everything is normal kahit short trip lang ang nagawa ko nasa half na yung guage say mga 5mins of driving? nothing to worry about? baka kasi bigla nalang mag over heat... may its just me being paranoid... haha... sorry po sa pagiging makulit...

Normal temp. lang po pag yung needle ng temp. gauge is at the middle.

I assume na ok naman yung temp. gauges, meaning yung needle starts from the low point till it reaches the normal temp. w/c is somewhat near or at the middle. If that's the case, working naman temp. gauges.

Paano pong mas mainit kesa sa dati? medjo confusing po but the way I understand is mas mainit yung engine now that it has a cold air intake opposed to the stock air intake manifold?

Pa-try po i-check yung coolant level sa reservoir, radiator hoses (may need to be replaced baka malambot na), try also re-flushing the radiator itself. I assume the two fans facing the engine is working well. I have this car too and all is well, well maintained through the years

kasi noon pag pinapainit ko sa umaga matagal nya ma abot yung normal rev, meaning nanginginig sya, tapos after 10mins or so, ok na yung idle... with the CAI 5 mins lang ok na yung idle, pero mas mabilis din maka abot sa half ng temp guage, but not within 5 mins naman. napansin ko lang... ok ang fans, hoses and rads.. i tried driving it at high noon, high rev, high speed with aircon, ok namn.. then i observed it na naka idle... umaandar ang fan... then namamatay din... normal lang po ba yun sir?

as long as hindi na aangat sa middle yung needle wala kang problema.

yung fan sa radiator, normal lang na bubukas at mamamatay dahil sa thermoswitch, meaning ok pa iyan. kapag hindi na umaandar yung fan at tumaas ang temp mo doon ka matakot.

salamat po ng marami... ill take all your inputs... by the way DIY yung CAI... ginawa ko lang with PVC, rubber hose and Simota air filter... it worked naman... akala ko yun ang dahilan.. muntik ko na tinanggal..

your engine is still stock.

you have a normal operating temp. it rises faster if you drive it about a minute after starting it in the morning. rises slower if you just let it idle there.

saan yung intake ng CAI mo? headlight? or abve the wheel well? its not cold air intake kung asa loob din ng engine bay ang pasok ng hangin... then it'd be just sucking in hot air from the engine. you will lose power if so.

tama sila, normal lang yang temp mo (needle at the middle). though naalala ko sa '90 sentra ng father ko noon, nasa Cold ang needle at wala sa middle. pag umakyat ng middle, overheat na hehe

nasa likod ng head light sir, with thermal wrap and heat shield... nilakihan din yung butas na maliit na makikita dun...medyo mabilis lang sya mag init compared dun sa stock nya...
