so maganda kamo hatak ng makina pero hirap o makupad kapag idiniin ang siilinyador dahil mabigat ang sasakyan ganun ba?

Based on my test drive, it's not that there is slow delivery of power to the wheels, but rather the transmission shifting.

It feels like the transmission takes too long to shift up from first gear to second and second to third.

I tried manually shifting it up when the revs or speed was enough but there was more than 1 second delay before it actually shifts up.

    EDIT:

Just between the three PPVs, Montero shifts the fastest, Fortuner shifts the slowest (to me). The Terra is smack dab in the middle in terms of how quick it responds to manual override shift inputs.

In terms of letting it shift automatically, it is slightly slower in shifting from 1st to 2nd when you compare it to the current Fortuner. You'll notice it in the revs. You need to somewhat kick it up close to 2500rpm before it shifts. While for the Montero and Fortuner, you are closer to around 2000rpm and it is fine when shifting.

For me, since it takes a little too long to shift out of first, it feels like the is more hesitation when building up momentum. But once you have shifted out of first and second, it feels more normal for something that has the most torque/power.

    My take on the matter.

so, the transmission sapped the engine of its power.
i had the same "high shift point issue" with the 2003 cedia mx cvt.
    it gargled gas.

That's strange. Mine shifts at around 1800 rpm when I go easy on the pedal. With deeper and quicker throttle input it holds the gears a bit longer. The manual shifter isn't necessary imho.

It's quick and fast enough but jaggerx is right that it's on the heavy side. Which is ok for me since it is also one of the biggest PPVs. The extra interior space makes the porky curb weight worth it for me.

I love the brakes. Strong, well modulated and progressive. The steering is still on the heavy side though. 3 point turns are its worst enemy. At 140kph it's a bit too light naman. Haven't taken it above that but it feels like the steering is gonna be too light at 180kph.

The test drive unit we drove only had 100kms on it so I was assuming the possibility of the shifting points might change later but Nissan BGC couldn't confirm it.

I don't recall experiencing shift shock on low gears but a friend of mine who just got his Terra said he noticed it in his unit. So he is observing it for the time being.

Braking is nice on the car, properly tuned so that the vehicle doesn't lurch forward if you are gently braking the vehicle.

Can't say much about speed, highest I got it on test drive was around 4th gear only, which as I mentioned was more responsive with shifting compared to the lower gears (1st and 2nd). Still, target is around next year to inquire price then and if there is any discount. It's a toss up between that and the Montero by then, barring any other external factors that might influence the purchasing decision.

Yup agree there, its a fam hauler for me so the extra space really is worth it and didn't feel it lumbering in anyway either.

If one wants quick and fast, nothing beats a gasoline engine.

Terra 4x2 VL unit owner here.

Does anyone know the code for the headunit?

Nag pa install ako ng TV Plus sa labas. everything works perfectly. Pero pag umaandar na. the screen turns off due to safety reasons. but sabi sa casa they can remove that feature for a fee of P1,500. They just need to input a code. parang yun sa innova and fortuner.

Very excited to test drive a Terra this week. I've been contemplating which VL version to go with, 4x2 or 4x4. I cannot find the gas consumption between the two and if its a big difference. I'll mostly do city driving, maybe every once in awhile go on a road trip but its not often. Main reason to have a 4x4 is during those times of heavy rain or having that possibility of going off roading but it will matter if there is a big difference in gas consumption.

go with 4x2 as most of the time kahit 4x4 ang unit mo, naka-engage pa din naman sa 4x2. i have a 4x4 but seldom lang nagagamit, minsan kung maalala ko lang i-engage[emoji28] kahit nka 4x2, kaya naman yung mga akyatan at unpaved roads sa probins. about sa fuel consumption, sa 4x2 ka na lang magbase at hindi mo naman i-daily drive sasakyan mo na naka-engage sa 4x4 [emoji849] at kung big difference, hindi sa fuel consumption ka tumingin, kung hindi sa presyo ng 4x2 at 4x4.

4x4 on paved roads(city driving)even when its raining heavily might damage your driveline. especially when you turn.

only the montero prado and Everest lets you drive 4x4 on paved roads wet or dry..

I noticed this at PIMS last week:

The second row seats are placed quite low (?) bec. sitting on the seats I can't feel any thigh support. This would mean fatigue even on normal short city rides.
I dont think Terra has a high floor bec. my knees were not folded up high ( maybe like in a GEN 1 Everest).

nag dadalwa isip na ako sa Terra, one concern is the parts how come some owners of navarra are apprehensive of the parts. since its relatively new pa naman Navarra, parang ma-feel mo sa mga posts here and FB na overly curious sila pag meron isa member may pinagawa or ipapagawa

the 2nd concern is as the Terra gets common in the eyes, yes i can see one everyday now in the roads as well as display sa malls. its beginning to look so common and outdated design, sort of a morphed Sua Montero.

some colors like white, black make it more dated design. sabi ko na eh if this was
launched in 2015-2016. when all 4 (mux, fort, monty, eve) were launched just months apart from each other, the Terra is not that quite appealing.

ngaun lang siguro its getting a lot of attention coz its the last PPV in our eyes, unless of course Chevy launches a new one, since 2013 pa yun.

and last concern, yes it looks quite heavy on the outsude. I just ran side by sode in one today woth my Santa Fe, but thats a good thing for me coz the reason we buy PPvs is because of its tank quality

maybe im just cocenred now coz I have so many things to do pa. i cannot invest on a question mark vehicle thats both a new brand Terra and Nissans comeback to diesel suv.

mag Vlogging kasi ako eh, mag-aral pa ako ng drone, 360, action saka interview and selfie videos. and also have to go back plain old Grammar lessons kasi symepre, Vlog is a term that came from BLog. and also Public speaking .

grabe ang hirap but the future is here and i have to make money on that. kitams nyo haman kabi kabila na ang sprouting Filipino reviewers ng cars ala Uk topgear. maybe if I have a british accent mas ok di ba. si dmitri valencia nga kahit hinde nagsasalita sa youtube, yun mga dron videos nya ng build 3x projects ni My Pres eh getting a 100000 likes. ba pag mah gnahan ka sa Youtube, youtube is gonna pay you na for the ads.

anyways, I already have a MUx, no question on dursbility and llongetivity coz its Isuzu. so I thing im gonna go for the Montero as backup, oz Mitsu diesel is also tested durable in Philippjne islands. symepre pag nag Vlog ka dapat vehicle mo tough, parsng yun mga sinasakhan ng mga Cnnn reporters sa warzone.

with the terra, parang new kid on the block. ayaw ko muna mag isup about cars, i want t focus on my content. syempre di pa naman ako katulad ni Erwan or Nico na mah mga PA saka mga asawa na celelbirty.
