Ah yes, the legendary Nissan Patrol . Durability is an understatement for this behemoth.
Specs specs specs please. Most likely this model will probably feature a common-rail variant on the V6 version (and about dang time too). I hope they also snap-in a rear diff lock this time as standard equip to get the maximum fun on weekends at the trail. Mud pits here we come!
Exterior wise it's really a fresh approach as it finally leaves behind its boxy, heavyweight look. As usual, Nissan never fails to leave us dumbfounded as to why they have to include something really retro, in this case, the untidy looking tail-hook that dangles from its ultra clean - spare tire-less - rear.
As for the interior appointments, I hope that they do away with the amusing cassette playing stereo

*senna- u mean the current Super Safari? i think UMC is still selling this but in limited numbers... also i think this model is still being assembled here at the STAR, Sta. Rosa, Laguna
it was rumored before that the Patrol will retain the old body style for years to come. others even questioned its future! indeed, nissan has a lot of surprises.
i would find this patrol more realistic once the aussie version is on sale. right now, i still have to get used to the design of this one. its too car-like (or even a 4x2 version) for me when this is supposed to be a brute.Last edited by ianmitsulancer; December 19th, 2008 at 11:32 PM.

I thought its a RAV 4..... hahaha! Its the BEST looking Nissan Patrol ever! Very muscular... stylish and i hope a CRDi engine is its secret weapon! My goodness... this tough luxury SUV has evolved! No more spare tire on the rear door. GREAT!
The only thing is that... i still can't afford one. Hahahaha!

based sa pic, parang sarap bihisan nyan a! heavily tinted black windows, 22TI Chrome Mags Wheels and Bayo audio set-up! hayz.. sana paglabas nyan, may pambili na ko nito....

Not to sound like an old timer but of all but I still think the current Super Safari looks better than this Renault-ish looking thing. Of course, that's not to say that the time will come when I will eventually desire one. hehehe.
But presently, the Super Safari is still my pick. The solid axles peeking underneath the body, the tough no-excuses fascia, and the fact that it still ends up looking great despite the obvious lack of styling all make me desire it.
Losing the solid axles and 4wd shifter (in favor of a button?) seems askewed to the actual mission of a Patrol.
Until then, I'm holding on to my GU.
