hi guys, im new here and planning to buy my very first car, my budget is 130k and honestly i dont know anything about cars so im hoping to get some good advice here this will be my biggest purchase ever. i saw a 96 nissan sentra super saloon priced at 128k, 1. ok ba ang modelong ito 2. tipid ba sya sa gas 3. hindi ba ako mahihirapan sa paghahanap ng spare parts nito.

ur advice and opinions on this will greatly help me on purchasing my very first car.. good day to all!!!!

    P.S: NISSAN SS 96 MODEL 128K VS. HONDA ACCORD 95 MODEL 133K

rule of thumb when buying a 2nd hand car is to also allot a budget for repairs and whatnot.

    mga 10k to 20k siguro

If you are on a budget, it's best to keep to the smaller cars (example: Sentra, Civic, Corolla, Lancer) even if prices of larger sedans are enticing. Cars like the Accord, Cefiro, Corona and Galant might be cheap/affordable on the second hand market BUT their spare parts are still more expensive than the equivalent part for smallers cars of the same year.

As for the 96 Nissan Sentra SS 1.6L, it is a good car as long as the previous owner has taken good care of it and its mileage is not astronomical. As for it's fuel consumption, it is average at around 8km/L. You can also choose the Sentra 1.4L which has similar comfort levels but with a smaller engine that can deliver 10km/L fuel mileage.

Before finalizing any deal for a used car, best to have stuff like the A/C checked for any potentially expensive to repair problems like leaks in the compressor, etc. I have seen people prepare a car to look perfectly fine but have hidden the problem so the potential buyer will not find out until a week or later after the car was sold (example is the A/C as mentioned above).

Nissan Sentra matic 96 would give you around 6-7 km per liter. While the accord is about 6km per liter city driving. My experience with nissan sentra is unlike the civics and the lancers mas malakas sya sa gas.Almost identical with Mazda familia.I think it has something to do with their twin cam engines.

Bro mura na yang 95 na accord tapos 133thou lang?.Make sure na maganda pa makina lalo na yung matic tranny nya.Check mo mabuti papers. The best thing to do is photocopy the original papaers at check with the LTO office tapos police clearance sa TMG.

sir another tip if i may. start the engine of the car. close all windows. turn off the airconditioning and start revving the the car, if you get the smell of engine oil or exhaust dont buy that car.
it means, lumalagok na ng langis ung car.if you also see white milky smoke from the exhaust pipe, dont buy that also coz it means A LITTLE water is present sa carburator(THAT IS KUNG CARBURATOR PA GAMIT) another is cleanliness. aside from how clean the engine is please do consider how clean the interior is. maraming bagay sa interior ng kotse ang hindi basta natatanggal ang dirt ng mabilisan coz nilinis right before ipakita sa buyer. how clean it is sa loob will give you an idea kung papaano inaalagaan ng previous owner yung car. if ever you will consider a mitsubishi car and ang sabi syo ng owner is sa diamond motors na casa sya nagpapamaintain, i have a way to find out kung totoo sir. we can have a printout of the maintenance history of the said car. now if you still want options of other cars dont hesitate to contact me at 09239798596. hope you get the car that you want. another piece of advice....wag magmadali... and wag masyado din magtagal sa pagkuha ng car. consider first your needs, once these are met, then consider your wants. goodluck

sa choices mo, the sentra is my choice. yung accord, it's not a bad car at parang mura sya for a big car but as ghosthunter pointed out, mas mura i maintain yung sentra. since you are buying a 2nd hand car, i consider mo lagi yung madali/mura i maintain. kahit gano kaganda ng car, basta 2nd hand expect mo na masisira yan so dapat madali humanap ng mechanic/pyesa.

pero ang suggestion ko sayo bro. be patient in looking for a car to buy, kung kailangan mag save ka pa until you can buy a better car do that. I would suggest gawin mo 180K-200K ang budget mo, mas madali humanap ng better car at that price range (toyota corolla lovelife, 98 civics, sentras etc)

but if you really need to buy a car sooner, just be patient in looking. good luck!

need advice on 130k budget
