    Hi,

Just wondering if buying a Murano in the Philippines will be a good idea. I own a 2007 SE and 2011 LE murano in Canada and I love it so much that I want the same car for my business trips and errands in the Philippines. Any idea on how "hot" this car from carnappers and the likes? Don't like BMWs and Mercs as I have used them before and the Murano trumps those German cars 2 folds down.

I also heard the rav 4 and CRVs are considered luxury cars there? No idea why it is called luxury cars there as those are economy cars here at abroad.

Any thoughts and suggestions on which dealership to go?

    Thanks!

Try Nissan Mantrade, and look for Ms. Rona Leus. Gave the Murano a spin last year and the ride was great. The downside -- its steep sticker price at P2.85M (if I recall it right). With that, you have the option of getting a 7-seater Pajero at P2.6M, or even the 7-seater Mazda CX-9 which now fetches P2.350M.

2.85m (LE ba to?) = +/-$68,000:excl: That is like a fully loaded X5 here! yikes! mga pinoy nga naman oh! I'll give her a shout when i go there in Feb. If i get the car dapat mayroon kang commision para pang goodtime! Lanang pajero (montero) dito sa north america so I can't comment on the ride. CX-7 fun to drive but too big for me. I rather get a van if I am buying more than 5 seats (may honda odyssey ba dyan?) . Also the quality of materials is not as PAR as on the murano. If you have a chance to step inside a Infiniti SUV and then step inside a murano you won't see the difference on the quality of materials.

Well that will be tough now to think that the murano is that expensive there.

I'll just go to Apalit and get a stainless steel SUV wanabee made for me with maching halakhak na sirena!LOL!

seriously if I am a pinas resident and wants to get a nice SUV that will ride well on mga lubaks, cost is reasonable for the vehicle, and has serious V6 engine what will you get if you have 3m budget?

It's sad that cars in the Philippines are waaay more expensive. Even the Camry and Accord are freakin expensive here compared to other countries.

If your budget is 3M, your choices will be Murano, the old Patrol, CX9, Veracruz, Tribeca, Q5, Explorer, Suburban, Prado is around 3.5M, Pajero, Dodge Nitro, and Chrysler Journey. I don't know the prices of Land Rovers and Jeep here. Maybe you can consider the Alphard v6 if you like vans. As for my preference, extend your budget to 4M and get a Land Cruiser.

Yup meron na Murano Z51 dito sa Pilipinas.

I think they dropped the price na ata by a bit to 2.6 or 2.7 million pesos (due to economic agreement between Philippines and Japan).

Hehe IMHO, you should go get one. The Murano looks awesome and CVT gearbox nya ay ROCK SOLID :D

nitro, journey and explorer are out of the list as they are too plasticky and can't come close to the level of refinement of a murano. actually had those cars as rental cars here (one of the cheapest rental suvs you'll get) and i returned it and paid extra to get a jeep commander (commander is a sweet ride-can't imagine using the low 4 mode on pinas floods it will be like chicken for the jeep. besides i think a nitro, journey and explorer are like way overpriced too. i rather buy a crv or rav 4 before those.

drove a veracruz yesterday...like the styling but not that spacious. tribeca are gas guzzlers so no way. no german cars as parts are freaking expensive (dont know if pinas has free 4 years maintenance on bmw and audi). i didnt see a v6 alphard on the toyota phil website.

i think the landcruser series are the only suv that you guys are recommending that i think is on the right price for a import suv there. the landcruser lc200 is like a lexus lx, landcruser prado is like a lexus gx.

are those lux cars common nowadays in pinas. i dont want to attract too much attention if you guys know what i mean

Sorry but I have to disagree. It just happens that car in the US are really cheap (like most consumer goods). Compared to the rest of SE Asia, our car prices are actually among the least expensive in the region especially non-luxury cars.

Anyway, going back to the topic, unfortunately, Nissan image in the Philippines is very poor nowadays and I hardly see any new Nissan cars even if they just released new models. So although I think the Murano is a very good luxury CUV at 2.8M, if it was my money, I'd look elsewhere.

Murano in Philippines
