Ideally a Timing Chain should last the life of the engine. Severe oil starvation or a gross manufacturing defect are the only things that are likely to cause chain failure. If the engine did lose oil pressure it is possible the timing skipped due to a lack of oil pressure to charge the Hydraulic Tensioner for the Timing Chain. If that is the case then the timing needs to be reset, the chain itself should be OK. If the chain is actually on the outs it is likely the motor will fry before the chain fails - the timing will be off after all.
