You are welcome to your own interpretation. You can ask "NIKY" about it since he was driving in his Ford Lynx RS along with me.

One hour manila to subic is doable as long as you can maintain speeds between 160 to 210 kph for most of the way on NLEX and SCTEX and encounter little traffic along the way. Do note it was done from 5 to 6 am.

And it only took us that long because we slowed down to 120 every time we saw a patrol vehicle. If we'd stayed at full pace, we would have gotten to Subic in under an hour.

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I tried to floor my Dad's Sentra (B12) once at NLEX, I think that was year 2001, and I reached 140kph. Hindi ko alam kung anong RPM na kasi 1400SLX lang yun.

Kinda off-topic...but yes, should be possible...but the engine is rare and expensive, and finding someone familiar enough with the X-Trail's wiring to do it will be difficult. You'll probably be leaving the car with the electrician for a few months to figure out the wiring and get it done.

But the N16 is so hard to make it look "good" & "sporty".

The problem naman with B13 and B14 is the age of the available cars...

Anyone done that locally already?

Yeah, the B13/B14 are already hard to come by in good, fresh condition with the off-the factory look so an N16 is the next bet; how to make it look sporty? It's easier to make it look VIP it seems.

Renzo, kuha ka ng 05 GX, lagyan mo na DET tapos pa-paint mo ng yellow with matching airport taxi roof sign. :D

I had it on my mind a while back. No budget, though. sponsors .. anyone?

And I still haven't heard anyone that did the same project. I have a feeling that it would be definitely costly.
Tingin ko hindi siya bolt-on.

If I have a SR20DET installed, modifying the exterior would be at the very last of my priorities.
I want a car that looks stock as possible, but performs way better than what it used to be.

If tuned right, it will be definitely a VTEC killer.
To lighten off the rather heavy body of the N16, aftermarket CF body panels would be a great help.

^ A 200-300k project I presume, excluding the car itself.
So all in all we're seeing a 600k project here including the N16.

Not bad, eh?

AFAIK, wala pa nakakagawa nito but in australia madami. Most are VE+T but im not keen on that due to reilable issue so straight DET swap pa rin mas ok. Maski rin naman b13 and b14 may alteration rin gagawin sa isang engine mount placement. Ok itong project, full coilover ng b15 sa states match sa n16. At stock form you can really feel its more balance compared to my b13 before.

Parang yung B13 mo dati, sleeper din yun ah. But yes, business first nga naman.

The SR20 is still the easiest, most cost-efficient swap. It also matters just getting it right since a lot of local swaps are not done well, especially with the wiring and this eats up power/ response and reliability.

the best chassis to put the sr20 would still be the b13.... lighter and easier to make handle properly.

Not necessarily. The short suspension travel of the B13 front wheels give it poor handling when pushed moderately hard in a corner.

The B14 chassis fixes that problem and is more rigid as well. Between the two, the B14 is the better chassis. Of course, if you are talking about aesthetics, the B13 simply looks better.

Fixed with the 2000 model, which squared off the round edges of the body.
