Tapos ang problema mo... go to Street Specs banawe. If I were you either SR20VE or QR25DE para Se-R na. I think you can also interchange body parts w/ the more handsome USDM B16 in this. COOOOL! If overkill a SR20VET or DET is a good idea as well. As what enthusiasts say SRs and RB26 are bullet proof engines, kahit oldy matibay talaga.

Oh shoot! pahamak kc si sir Ignited... The USDM Sentra that I think you can interchange body parts is the B15 Sentra, not the B16. Coz these are the models (N16 and B15) that are similar in suspension chasis etc. And I'm sure Sir Ignited made a mistake about he's post. Baka nalito coz of the num. 16 by the word N16 and B16. haha.

    Budget is kind of tight:
    70-80K pesos max
(should include engine and basic suspension/brake ups)
Kung may matira man, baka pang-mags nalang...
Naku sobrang tight pala talaga ng budget, I just realised.
    * * * * *

    *sir always yummy:
Yeah the age of the engine actually came into my mind.
A friend even suggested to why not just rebore the stock QG13DE engine into at least a displacement of say 1600cc (1500cc at least),
then have some fuel controller system or something.
It's a manual .. the GX Power trim...
SR20VE could be out of the budget na po eh ...
Kasi I would just get some 70 (or 80K the most) from the sale money of the Civic.
The budget should have some left for suspension and brake ups as well, but it could be stretched if reasonable.

    *sir gh:
The VQ - yeah one of the mainstay in WARD's best engines - I think is really way out of budget.

    *sir renzo_d10:
Thanks po. But it really has to go.
Yep probably the first bolt-ons I'd do would be the strut bar and front stabilizer bar, kahit OEM nalang.
I was quite hesitant to look pa into NISMO tag prices eh.

Not really actually canvassing yet on prices, but the most likely choices left for me are the SR20DE or SR18DE.

    *sir niky:
Oh I see, DMF is more like a place for Nissan drifters. I was thinking they're the best bet.
But still, it won't hurt to pay a visit though parang nakakalangan magtanong.
I see a picture of a shop with lots of Silvias and Sileighties.

    *sir cd:
    Street Specs?
The SR20VE is way out of budget na po yata.
More so the QR25DE which I suppose is the Xtrail engine.
Yep, bullet proof but I think hindi na po yata kasya yung straight-six RB engine.
And yes, the N16. First thing actually comes to mind pag B16 is the Honda engine eh. So, N16 nga po.

At a 70-80k peso budget, focus on suspension, brakes and tires. If you want extra power, you can dabble with a Unichip (30k), which will give you some extra grunt in the midrange (probably around 10 ft-lbs of torque) and a little more top-end. Will make a big difference mated to a good exhaust... but getting an exhaust made for a 1.3 is kind of insane... though I've met guys who not only had an exhaust... but cams... on their 1.3s... (not QG13s, though) special kind of insanity

But 70-80k pesos worth of work on a QG13 won't make you even as fast as a QG16... at most, you'll probably be making around the same bhp (considering the QG13 already has 95 bhp), but a QG16 will still have much more torque.

And yeah, swapping in an engine that's one or two model generations older into a car with no other problems than being slow isn't very practical. I guarantee you that you will have wiring problems... simply because of the generation gap between the engine and the chassis. Instruments won't match up. Your electrician will take months to figure things out... then go on a sabbatical because his brain's about to explode. Things may break.

The most trouble-free swaps are those where you swap in engines that are meant to go into the car you're swapping them into... which means the newer SR20s (get one from a Serena... there were manual ones) or the QR25 (Serena/X-Trail). And that will still involve ordering engine mounts and driveaxles, possibly from the US and acquiring an FSM or wiring guide so that your electrician won't get lost. It'll cost you well over 100k, considering how new the engines are and how much else you'll have to order. Ooh... don't forget the brakes!

If you want the best engine, you'll have to buy a QR25 from the US out of an SE-R Spec-V, to get the LSD-equipped six-speed and an extra 10-20 hp. Yeah, the SR16VE has more bhp... but in the real world, it won't have the mid-range grunt to keep up with a QR25.

Again... suspension muna, bro. Think about power when you have a junker to play with or when you have the budget to do it right. ;)

wag ka mag sr16ve....mabigat kaha ng n16 than the older b's....kaya nga sr20ve recomend ko..kasi galing sa primera, which is almost the same weight ng n16.... alam ko sa bigbigcar, si sir ghosthunter may pinost na sr20ve na for sale...

    Yup well said sir niky.
If only that n16 had a lighter and smaller body with sporty suspension, the qg13de should do just absolutely fine.

Anyway, Im not into racing na naman. Oks nako sa 150kph.

    Thanks again for the replies.
Turned out I didn't have the budget for the right swap and proper mods to match a more powerful (but older) engine in.

Maybe just spend the money on a decent stabilizer bar (the GS/GSX had them stock, damn ...) .... and a front strut bar .. plus some 16s mags and tires (pampalubag-loob man lang sa pagkawala nung isang car)....

I was just overwhelmed by the sudden want for more power, not realising the car and the pocket aint ready for it..

    Yup 1300cc po sir.
Kasi naman we originally bought the car for my mom, so we thought oks na yung GX since she won't need/want more power from it naman.

I should have seen this coming...

Nung minsan nasa casa ako may nakasabay akong 180GT N16 na black. Cool car. The first and only unit Ive seen so far.
