Help pimp my old nissan sentra 1991 model

Pinamana na kasi ni erpat yung sentra niya na super saloon. Bago niya eto binigay sa akin pinapalitan niya lahat ng sira at luma ng bago. Syempre ayoko naman pong mapahiya kaya gusto ko rin ipakita na may effort akong pagandahin yung oto niya. Unfortunately, i'm such a "dumbass" when it comes to cars, as in sobrang basic lang yung alam ko.

Matanong ko lang po mga masters kung san po ako mag-start. I'm planning to buy 15" rims and tires, although bumili si erpat ng bago na pang original pa rin. Suspensions, lowering springs, shocks, what else?

purpose is for everyday use, syempre pag may gustong kumarera yung pwede kong pagbigyan na hindi ako mapapihiya, plus looks and entertainment at driveability. Sabihin na nating best of all worlds. I don't suggest blinding doing exhaust system mods. More often it can lead to no gains or even less power than before.

And a hefty increase in fuel consumption too.

My B13 Sentra only does 5 to 5.5 km/L city driving back in the 90s with my engine & exhaust mods. Occassional out of town drives gives me 8 to almost 10km/L.

sir ghosthunter, so there is no way to make b13s look more like a race car? If i'm going to buy 15" rims, i guess it won't look good if it's not lowered. I see a lot of b13s with really nice rims but are not lowered, for me it doesnt look that good. I'm starting to realize that there are less mods you can do w/ b13s compared to other cars, but i'm up to the challenge.... haaaay.

one more question sirs, are there shops who customize body parts, like change the whole look of the car? for example i want to change the look of the back of the car or make it look bigger. Are there shops like that here in the phil like what i see in american t.v shows?

Don't get me wrong. You CAN lower the B13 sentra. You just have do to a bit of research to get it done correctly. If not, you will have to live with bottoming out the suspension once in a while.

The solution (then) was a short body shock to match with the usual lowering springs. The short body shock would give the suspension a bit more travel. An inch and a quarter more, I think.

The alternative is to shave off half of the rubber bumper of the shock absorber. This would give you another 1/2 inch of suspension travel. It might not sound much but any little bit is a big help with the B13's limited suspension travel.

In my case, I just lowered my B13 using Eibach lowering springs on stock shocks. Works fine until the car's suspension bottoms out on the first hump I hit rather fast. So I have to slow down for humps and potholes. If that is fine with you, you can do the same lowering I did years ago.

Just note that there is a difference between race car looks and race car performance & handling.

BTW, even with my limited suspension, I got my car to sustained speeds of 180kph on NLEX with no problem.

siguro, aesthetically, what i can suggest is to have a GTS II bodykits + 1 liner grille para sa b13 nissan eccs mo bro. kaya lang mahirap tlga makahanap. very rare na. for engine mods naman, actually hndi mo na kelangan e kasi since everyday car mo nman yan and you already have 1.6 DOHC engine. IMHO lang nman. ) by the way, nice car. )

I will start looking for performance parts. I will start with the rims and suspensions. BTW sirs are coil overs better than buying suspension parts separately, i guess its more expensive than buying the parts one by one, correct me if i'm wrong sirs Any suggestions on what shops i should go to first?

sir ghosthunter question po ano po yung VVL Solenoids for SR20DE and i think it needs something like activators for VVL Solenoids, my friend just told me about it. It really hard for me, a newbie, to understand these terminologies. I asked you this question because someone is trading his SR20VE NEO VVL engine for my xbox and ps3. First, don't lower it until you know what you are up against.

Why?

The front suspension has very short travel length and if you lower it, even by an inch or so, you will end up with a very short suspension travel and potentially bottoming out the front everytime you drive over a hump or pothole.

Next, wheels. Just choose between 15 or 16 inch alloy wheels of your choice. 15s will give you some degree of comfort by using 195/55/15 tires or 195/50/15 tires for more aggressive look.

16s will give a harsh ride with any tire choice but looks very nice. The harsh ride will be tiring on longer drives. So choose well.

Engine mods. I suggest you plan out any mods to your engine & exhaust very well. If you want more performance, best to just do an engine swap with a SR20DE engine because it will be cheaper for the amount of added HPs you get than trying to get the original GA16DE engine to make more than the original 110HP.

I had a B13 sentra before with a GA16DE engine. I got it to make 125 HP but I spent a ton of money on parts and stuff. And it guzzles gasoline at that performance setting. Not bad if gasoline costs less than P10 per liter. At today's fuel prices, it's not viable anymore.

Note: don't even think of doing an exhaust mod, even changing the muffler to a fart can because it will affect your car's fuel consumption. If you don't believe me, it's your wallet that is paying for the gas that will be hurting.

Anyway, with 110HP the Sentra ECCS isn't slow, even when compared to today's cars.

For audio, a simple HU with CD/MP3 with aux-in or even iPOD port (if you have an ipod) should be enough. You can upgrade the speakers with two or three way speakers on the rear window deck and upgrade the front door speakers as well. Try to avoid subwoofer setups because they weigh a lot and can take up a lot of space in the trunk. Less weight means your car can go faster quicker.

I suggest PIONEER head-units as they are very affordable.

Its better to look for a ga16de manual tranny. AFAIK, a consumption of a ga16de matic should be around 7 to 8 km/liter. A manual tranny will give you an average of 8 to 9 for pure city driving. Its no truth to the saying its because its an ECCS. The ECCS is the intake design of nissan. The reason behind why thr local ga16de egine consumes more gas its because of the DOHC engine without the VTC. tinipid kasi kaya hindi nilagay yun VTC unlike if youre gonna get a surplus engine from japan it comes with variable timing controller.

For the series lll model(b14) has a ga16dne engine. For the ECCS model(b13) has ga16de engine for the 1600 category. Both engine are basically the same except for the intake design
