if your valve lifters are oil-dependent, then the long-standing non-use may have caused the oil to bleed out. in this case, there is nothing you can do except to keep cranking until the oil pressure gets "normal".
another reason for hard starting after a long period of non-use is, the fuel in the carburetor (or one of its passageways) dries up. this can be remedied by directly injecting fuel into the throat, or by cranking the engine until the carb gets filled up again.
a third possibility is, your cylinders are already loose compression and will need to be fixed in the near future.
