guys, i have read about coil spring spacers for the safari. the most common size available on the net is 30mm in height.

if i installed this on a safari, would i be able to accommodate 33" tires? what else needs to be done to accomodate 33" tires? any other tips and tricks that i must perform to keep it performing like stock? do i need to change shocks?

as you guessed, i want a small lift on a tight budget to fit 33" tires on a safari. hope you guys can help me.

and if the coil spacers are the way to go, where can i get it them? meron ka ba nito pareng Glennster?

    thanks,

    andy

30mm lift is not enough to fit 33 tires. Sounds easy as it may seem, but front tires will rub the mudguards and inner fender walls (front & rear) when compressed during trails.

If you insist on doing a lift in a cheaper manner, 32 tires will leave you with less trouble on 30mm coil spacers. And more room inside the fenders incase you decide to hit some trails.

Yes, you will still need to fit longer shocks that will accomodate the extra lift. Stock shocks limit the full extension play even without spacers on stock coils.

GlennSter borrowed my rear 15mm poly spacers and I think he is planning to have it fabricated locally which will cost cheaper.

The Nissan Patrol GQ wheelwells are not as generous as the Pajero's. Tama si Ungas, you will rub at anything above 32" if you only get a small lift.

    thanks for the inputs guys.

follow up. what is the limiting height for the coils spacers? akala ko 30mm was the max, pero it is mentioned that 2 inchers have been fabricated?

sample scenario lang: 2 inch spacers all around and longer shocks by KYB (cheaper) and then if necessary the correction kit thing (caster ba?). pwede kaya yon? safe ba itong combination?

Street-wise, yes, it can still be considered safe. Since coils will not travel at full lengths. If you are pertaining to the local rubber sold in car accessory shops, stay away from it. I tried those 30mm spacers and they compress to as little as 5mm only. Which could un-seat your coils if you decide to hit any trails.

For taller spacers, better have a metal fabricated then cover with rubberized paint. There's a black Patrol roaming around near UST which has 4 inch spacers with drop down bracket for front arms. Talked to the owner and he said it was done by 199 ORH. He also told me he will NOT hit any trails with that kind of lift.

if we use metal spacers, what is the allowable height without needing those dropdown brackets?

50mm or 2 inch lift will be your limit. More than that you will need castor correction bushing upfront. Longer shocks, stiffer coils (less body roll), extended stab links.

Ok yun front metal spacers na pina fab ko. Yun rear 2" rubber pinalitan ko ng 1" only. Nawala yun vibration (na correct angle ng prop shaft, siguro ) and body roll during lane changes.
