I think this is Jatco dct.

Jatco makes cvts and step-ats(torq conveters)

maybe this is their new transmission to move away from cvt lol.

If this is jatco's first dct, then it is another reason to skip this model.

I'm of the same mind. Given that it is their first dct, i feel the need to only observe for now.

I do wonder why they didn't opt for 6at or 8at for it since they produce it at jatco.

I hope this design language goes to their other models. The DCT was the biggest surprise, hope it won't have the DCT issues of other brands.

6sp torqconverters arent as good as their latest gen cvts.

8sp torq converters are probably reserved for their bigger sedans. even toyota doesnt use it on their compacts sedans. they used it on their midsize.

maybe the next gen xtrail will get a "new" transmission

Well, hopefully we don't get another Ford DCT with this first gen Jatco DCT.

    Thanks for the reply.

Wondering where else they used the 1.0 Turbo engine and could only find this, 2019 Nissan Micra

Nissan Micra: new (SA-bound) turbocharged 1,-litre detailed - CAR magazine

The 1,0-litre DIG-T in the 2nd article looks to match the hp figures (86kw = 115hp), so I'm guessing torque is about the same as well.
