This car will be in trouble with the New Elantra/Civic/Focus arriving also. Combined MPG(US) is not class leading anymore.

Car below is for North American markets. Not sure about Asean/Chinese markets yet, but it will probably follow suit.

Ngayon nga walang bumibili eh, pano pa pag lumabas yung mga bago.

Sirang sira na Nissan dito. Only the Navara sells well. Oh, and the 30 year old Urvan.

    Agree.

    ranting...

    1. Corolla even though the 2017 will be all new. Ito pinaka exciting. though its 18 months away.

Current Corolla has EPA Combined mpg of 32, realworld tests does over 35MPG

with the Mazda Skyactiv and CVT im guessing they will achieve 38-40MPG by 2017?

    2. Civic looks promising 35MPG combined, EPA rating

    3. Mazda3 not sure how this ranks but 31MPG is really achievable in the USA

    4. Elantra looks good with the 1.4Turbo with EPA rating 35mpg combined.

    5. Nissan Sylphy? maybe 35MPG for the new one?

Will they also update the sylphy here? Sayang kakabili ko lang ng 2015 sylphy last september after checking out all other similar compact cars.

Buyer's market talaga. Daming choices. Get whatever you like. Good for the consumer.

I wonder nga bakit di mabenta sylphy dito when in fact ang lakas niya sa China.

They have a factory in china hence the buyers are supported quite extensively. 5yr warranty with cheap maintenance siguro.

    Hahaha. Loko ka talaga OB.

I just say Sentra. since a lot of people locally do not know what a Sylphy is (since di naman talaga popular sa atin ang mythology lalo na sa mga uneducated). Sylphy means a slender young girl or beings that live in the air.

Ewan, basta I just say Sentra. hehe.

Ayaw ko na sa Hyundai, makalampag e. Ito after a year and a half, wala pa rin kalampag. Have you considered a change of color?

Buong-buo pa SF titanium blue ko. Wala pang major sira, 43TKm pa lang natakbo since I alternate 4 SUvs a weekl now,

Ang problema ko sa sf electronics, well not really electronics but yun mga small motors like yun sa mga actuators, and nowairbag sign lit up. Nadale na din ako magpalit ng ECU when I used motolite battery.

    -----

I love the color of Titanium blue. Ngaun since hindi na sya common color, my SF looks different.

Since matagal na rin yan, try having it clayed and detailed, tapos pa-seal mo ng Klasse/Carlack sa Bigberts. It will look new ulit. Kahit yung Explorer mo.

It will also save you money in the long run since tatagal ang paint lalo.

Mga 1k lang yun. You can do it yourself pero nakakapagod. haha.

Over voltage because of loose connection? If the battery connector was loose, you wouldn't be able to start your vehicle.

Yes plan ko mga yan pag may time. I'm gonna have it buffed and restore oringinal the titanium blue paint. My SF still looks good now coz I rarely use it even after 9 years

Sa explorer pa-repaint ko wet black always wanted a FBI car with chrome sidings and rims, tipong Lincoln Navigator

I like old SUVs d ko alam kumbakit. Lagi ko nga ako download ng 80s Pajero and LR Defender. I'm bored with new SUVs of today, parang pare-pareho Lang . Except for the Juke which I saw in person sa LA and Tokyo, so different. And the new Vitara - gandang ganda ako

I'm planning to buy my first car soon. However, i'm really torn between my options, Corolla Altis 1.6V, Nissan Sylphy 1.8v and Honda City VX. All are current models.

    I am considering the following:

    1. We are 6 in the family, one of which is a 6 yr. old girl. I was actually thinking of a Fortuner, but it's too much for my budget and I don't think all of us will ride the car most of the time. So I'm considering a sedan.

    2. I want to call it as my personal car.

    3. I want to use the car for adventures, if possible.

    4. Fuel efficiency

    5. Looks and comfortable ride

    6. Maintenance costs

I am considering Altis as my top choice but it seems that it lack technology inside. That's why I also considered the Sylphy 1.8 variant. It has all the specs! But my problem is, can i use the looks and presence of the Sylphy in going to Baguio or for adventures? Coz, it seems that it looks more of a professional car (i am actually a professional). Also, I don't have ideas on the parts prices of Nissan and how frequent should the pms be.

I considered Honda City VX since it has a lot of tech features.

    Help me please!

a family of 6 won't fit comfortably in most sedans, including the sylphy. and most families only get bigger with time, in number as well as in size and weight.
and... errr... what adventures do you mean, sir?
...seems to me you need something more... an innova perhaps? a mobilio..?

^ all this talk makes me wonder how we were able to move around in relative comfort in an 80's sized sedan back in the day

i guess not having any other option all those years was a blessing in a round about sort of way

I agree. Lima kami sa family and medyo tight squeeze na sa altis. Compact din yung slyphy so d nalalayo yung space. All adults though. Prone sa sayad din pag loaded kasi malambot suspension at mahaba overhangs so if you are thinking baguio or sagada and the likes na adventure, medyo uncomfortable na yun for the passengers kung anim kayo. Kahit sa driver, lagi kang magmemenor. Best nga yung auv or mpv sa purposes mo. Consider mo yung mga ertiga, innova, and the likes. D kasing porma pero mas suitable sa needs mo.

You are 6 in the family and wants some adventure, a sedan won't fit your wants and needs.

Buy an Innova, it's the best fit for you.

Haha.. I will just revise my statement. Actually, I can say that the car will only be at full blast (all of us 6 inside) for just once or twice a year. Usually during groceries for holidays. Major uses will be:

    1. service of my daughter to and from school.

    2. Service of my dad whenever he goes out for a check up.

    3. Mom's use for her meetings.

    4. Personal use for a week every month from Pampanga to Manila.

I plan to leave it in the province since Im working in Makati. Pero plan ko rin to use it kahit one week a month. Advice ko nga sa family ko is hndi naman mapupuno ung loob kasi ung mga purposes ko is hndi nman at the same time.

Then for the adventure thing, ito nalang ask ko. Pwede bang pang akyat mga yan Baguio?

I really love the Altis. But everytime i think that it lacks tech inside, napapaisip ako to go for the Sylphy.
