Nissan could also introduce the 5-seater option to compete with the P1.3M below price range. The 5 seater is cheaper than the 7-seater in other countries.
You are also correct on all points. Even with the redesign, X-trail's boot space is still one of the biggest in the market.

yup, for added legroom for the 3rd row passengers and a little bigger cargo space when the 3rd row is folded, though 2nd row legroom sacrifices when moved forward..

2nd row slides 40/60 split. Flexible seating imo.

For a newbie driver, baka big deal kung walang back up sensors, for the 4x2 at least. Kasi may back up cam naman yung 4x4.

afaik, that pic is only for reference.. the interior color of both variants here in our country are all black..

as for the seating and cargo capacity when the 3rd row seating is up, thats also the case with the santa fe, sorento, and even the truck based suv's.. plus, the price of priuses, deym man.. not worth it..

space saver spare tire as per them, in short, donut!! LOL!! thats ok for me though, even my 350z's spare is space saver donut, and its becoming a normal thing now for premium cars and even euro cars, even my brother's bmw unit has donut spare.. but of course, x-trail isnt really a premium car and thats where the problem with that lies..

A friend of mine will be getting his 4x4 silver in a few days time. Just sorting out the paperworks. Seems like silver is not as 'saleable' color for the xtrail kasi matagal na daw yung unit dun sa casa na yun. Everyone is opting for the other 3 colors (white, black and red).

Just got our unit home. 4x4 Initial observations: Sitting position is a little lower than I'm used to, but visibility is great all around, with the exception of the porky C pillars. The rear glass looks small but visibility is good for its size. I has good acceleration but not really built for drag races from a standstill. At 60Kph+ though the acceleration is great. The brakes are good enough but will get better once the pads are bedded in and the tires broken in. Active Trace Control and Active Ride Control are great in the twisties. There's little to no body roll and it really stuck to the corners like a car (maybe even better). Overall a good comfortable drive, and a comfortable ride even for those in the back (walang nahilo despite fast cornering). I'm really impressed with the handling. Just bit of choppiness in the front but I'll see what adjusting the tire pressure will do.

Congrats on your new ride! So you can really feel the Active Trace Control and Ride Control working? How was the suspension feel? I think you can still see the hood of the car so visibility is still ok. So far you're the only one who said that this X-trail's handling is good. Other reviewers bash its handling capabilities and is far inferior to CX5. But that is good news for other people who are looking for an unbiased review. How's the AVM system? Do you find it useful?

Thanks! Re: chassis control electronics that's just the thing, you don't feel them working. With the height you expect it to roll in the corners but it just doesn't. Also, you expect the chassis to drop in sudden dips but again, not much movement. Although i can't really compare to the CX-5 as I haven't driven it yet. Maybe the shorter wheelbase helps the CX-5 in the corners.

Our unit came with Yokohama Blue Earth tires. I set them to 33f/30r as per the door sill sticker. A bit of choppiness in the front, but I bet 30 psi at the front should get rid of it.

The AVM is great, but no more looking at the side mirrors when backing up takes a bit of getting used to. The display is small though, would be great if it were bigger.

Another great thing about this car is the gauges and multi info display. Simple and uncluttered, you only get to see what you need to. It also helps that it looks great!

I don't regret not getting the Subie hehe.

That's good to hear. It shows Nissan paid great attention to the car's dynamics. I hope they have an option to upgrade the unit to 7 inch in the future. 5 inch is too small to efficiently use the AVM system.

Yah, the MID is really an eye candy. It feels like driving a Lexus.

yup, nagkaron sila ng promo regarding roof rails on the 1st month of sales, nationwide daw yun for all 4x2 units.. with regards to the rear sensors, pwede naman talaga nila lagyan, pero some SA's wont tell you na d pa talaga pwede kasi wala pa sila nung tamang pambutas.. have you tried driving it at around 120-140? pag ganyan daw may maririnig ka na mahinang humming sound..

Hehe, yup, the MID makes my other cars feel like using a Nokia now.

Next to walang alam talaga mga sales agent. Ni hindi siguro nagbabasa ng mga online brochure. Naka focus lang kasi sa commission nila, puro kabig. I hope car companies at least educate them on new releases by holding seminars or something.

Baka mapabuti pa nga paghintay mo, daming left out na features hehe. Low mount stop lamp, LED projector headlamps, sunroof, motorized tailgate, side airbags, electronic front seat adjustment, auto park assist, etc.

Maybe a premium variant to be released in the future?

was a tad disappointed on the final PHDM spec.... the one on display on WTC was a different from the real deal.... I mean the TOTL should be TOTL. The 4x4 version could have become sweeter with that sunroof....
Reason why I'm holding out muna for the Mitsu outlander release. If what's on the floor will be the PHDM release, then I might really put it on my shortlist... V6 Mivec should be one hella of a drive.... but the 2.4 MIvec variant might really be enough.

BTW, I went to their Nissan ALabang for s proper test drive, but the Guard and The SA's where all dicks.... I mean no costumer service, I got fed up and decided to bail on them, My wife gave the ultimatum of not buying the Xtrail based on that experience.
Now I think I know why Nissan is down at the bottom feeders, I mean, they arent moving vehicles left and right, the best next thing they can do is treat buyers like they were royalty, It isnt really hard... I guess they just dont know any better
