I think there should be emphasis that the 2.0 can achieve 16km/l, strictly highway only, in 4x2 trim. As it has been tested as well in the jc08 cycle and with my experience with the 1.6 Syply CVT which also has 16.2km/l on the jc08 cycle test for highway only, I already reached and broke that.

Is 10km/l feasible, perhaps in 30kmph to 40kmph average traffic I would assume.

So I would take that into consideration. Average speed throughout a certain trip is quite a big factor that could tank your FC.

I drove a 4x2 2.0L X-trail at NLEX last week. I tried to keep the speed to just 80km/h & just going above 100 km/h to overtake and the computer yielded 16 Km/L.

Thanks for the review. Did you check your tire pressure? The units come with 45psi+ on them from the factory. I'm curious how braking performance is on the Goodyear fuel saving tires. It's a bit of an ask to really brake test the test drive units.

You're probably right, re: seats being memory foam. It doesn't seem to work as well when covered in leather. I wouldn't mind "zero gravity" shoe insoles.

It's the last week of November, still no 4x4.

Freebie lang sir yung roof rail, yung fog lights wala pa daw kasi CBU Japan, e panget naman kung aftermarket na generic fogs ang ilagay.. baka magparetrofit na lang ako nang fogs.

oh? nice! maihirit nga yan sa dealer namin.. if you don't mind, san dealer ka kumuha sir? sayang yung fog lights, yan hirap pag CBU e, tagal ng mga pyesa sa simula.. nissan lover kasi ako e, former 1st gen x-trail owner at patrol, na ngaun 350z nalang ang natitirang nissan ko, and im in talks with them kasi i'll trade in my car.. i just hope na worth it talaga.. though sa test drive naman namin for both variants, mukhang good talaga.. but me and my wife are still choosing between the 2 variants.. ang saya kasi nung AVM e, parang video game, katempt para sa inner kid in me, hahaha!

Just test drove the 2.0 4x2 with my brother this afternoon. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the vehicle during our limited run. No 2.5 4x4 testdrive units were available though.

It didn't feel sluggish as to what I was expecting. I honestly expected it to perform like the non turbo 2.0 Forester but it was way better for me. The transmission didn't make the engine feel drone-y during hard acceleration, so it was also a pleasant note to hear so I do believe they really did improve on the CVT intelligence on that part just to improve the "Aural" feel of the driver.

As for comfort, I sat as a middle row passenger. I found the middle row a bit short on thigh support for a 6ft tall person but if you are 5'8", it would offer more than enough thigh seat area.

My brothers and I also experimented given we are all almost 6ft tall to see whether 6ft passengers could ride all 3 rows at the same time. As an emergency back seat row, it would work, but long drives would be straining to the muscles. My knees were up to my chest and getting my shoes into the "Cavity" that was created after we adjusted both the front and middle row seats with just enough room for all of our heights was still a bit of an acrobatic exercise. All in all though it fit exactly my shoe size of US 10. Any more though and it would be impossible to do without just having the person tiptoe his foot I guess.

Rear cargo area was also pleasant as we were comparing it against our cousin's Forester which was a bit more cramped compared to the Xtrail. The middle row being adjustable gives it a bit of room to accomodate 5'6 tall passengers in the rear given how the cabin is laid out. I am not sure though how it stacks up against the Kia Sorento if a third row option is installed in the Sorento. Whether the 3rd row is to far back against the rear hatch or it leaves a bit more room before hitting the door. I estimate about a foot (30cm) space between the back rest of the third row to the rear hatch (more or less) for the xtrail.

When I first saw the X-trail it attracted me like a magnet
that i want to get it instead of a Midsize suv of my choice
but when I learned that the 2nd row can't be reclined
I was Suprised that a modern Suv dosen't have that feature
and it was out of my list

By recline, do you just mean adjust the angle of the middle row seat? We played around with the angle through the latch at the upper part of the seat. I don't know how far back it leans though as we were testing out 3 people front, middle and back. But we started out with middle row seat being upright, then release the latch to angle it back as close as possible against my knee so that he wasn't seated upright.

It is the same latch used to lower the middle row to gain access to the third row. Same design with how the ladder frame SUVs do it to access third row. Whatever latch is used to "tumble" the middle row, is the same latch to change the angle of the middle row back rest.

    Hope that helps.

What kind of Salesman told me that it can't be
    reclined

I think it's now a sacrilege without 2nd row A/C vent for these kind of SUV or whatever classification these "SUVs" belongs.
