Hi! Planning to buy the xtrail 4x2, ask ko lang kung saan ok bumili with ok freebies, just ask Nissan Shaw, roof rail is already included in the 4x2, inclusive na rin un leather seats, tint(vkool), matting, early warning device and tools. I ask kung pwede na nila i free yun sensor and foglight babalikan pa raw nila ako hehe.. So balik sa question ko san ok bumili in terms of service and freebies
Thank you Sir Fulcrum for the parts number and description of the back up sensor . I will try my casa first kung wala sa Nissan northedsa ko dadalhin.
The 4km/l is understandable because the car is relatively new and I haven't really been able to take it for a long drive. Puro office at mall lang - less than 10km ang layo tapos traffic pa. I did a run to alabang last Wednesday and when I reviewed the FC readings parang nasa 7.5km/l - no eco mode pa nun. I think the FC will improve as I drive the car longer. I noticed the same thing with my other vehicles - the average FC (based on the onboard computer ) will stabilize after a month or 2 the more you drive the vehicle.
Sa tint naman medyo mali ko rin siguro kasi madilim na pili ko; but I was really surprised by the radiant heat, my guess is that the darker the color the more light it absorbs and consequently more heat - that's why I want a reflective tint. Anyway I really need to lighten the tint - hirap ako sa madilim. I will pass by some Vkool dealers to canvas and to check out the actual products - Tint Hub Auto accessories sa ortigas or HPM sa D. tuazon.
Let me share a photo of my new baby - parang gusto ko sya tawagan "batman".

FC on our unit averaged around 7.4 which included a horrible 3.5 for an hours drive from ortigas building to St. Paul pasig to UA&P and a high of 9.6. Still haven't done the manual method of computing.
I got my sensors from Nissan Ortigas at 7k. It has 4 sensors. They were telling me about compatibility issues with an aftermarket one they installed for another owner so I went with the OEM ones.
I also asked to deduct the cost of tint from the unit as I prefer clear ones. Got SolarGard clear for all windows and it works perfectly for me. It's a lot cheaper than VKool clear (1/5th the price). Have them also on another car (3 years old) and no issues on heat. If you do have your 3Ms changed, ask the installer to be extra careful removing the rear tint as a lot of times when they remove it, they also damage the rear defoggers.
*casamd nice thanks for the info regarding the FC, choosing between the black and pearl white hays badtrip hehe
update lang folks,
I called North EDSA to inquire about the back up sensor, giving the part number I got from Sir Fulccrum's post. They clarified that what they had was universal and not EOM. So I followed up with my agent regarding the back up sensors - available naman daw and he quoted me 5th plus. So i went there this am; but when i got there the sensor they had was only for the 4x2 - they tried it previously on the 4x4 model and found there were issues with the electrical system. So not advisable to have it done and if I insist it will be at my own risk. At this point I was already skeptical so I called north edsa again and asked about issues and the possibility of a void warranty - in front of my agent. The lady at the accessories shop said as long as you have it done at nissan, the warranty will be valid and to date no issues so far with their installations. Well I looked at my agent and said "paano ba yan?" Ang sagot sa akin "sir nagsasabi lang naman kami ng experience namin, mahirap naman kung gawin namin tapos may problema di ba? Pero puede naman namin gawin yan sir". Well i decided not to have it with them and aked around at the other casas about issues. After leaving Commonwealth I called up Nissan shaw and ortigas and got pretty much the same answer as north edsa so I decided to go to shaw and have the back up sensors done. While at Shaw i once again inquired about the warranty and any problems, they said since the work is done by nissan warranty is valid and "sa dami nilang kinakabit araw araw wala pa naman naging problema. True enough the guy ahead of me was having his xtrail done. So I got the 4 eye model and it works perfectly - the lady at the counter even told me to back up with her behind my car to test the sensor - talk about trust in your product. So although I waited 3hrs because of the line ahead of me I was still pretty satisfied with the work.
As for the tint, after canvassing around I got the same promo price from HPM and Tint Hub so I will have Tint Hub do the work since it is more convenient for me. Sa casa no more promo so sobrang mahal.
I do have another question though, this time about keeping the paint finish nice and shiny. I was reading about optiguard here in the forum. Ok ba sya or should I just have regular waxing na lang? From my reading parang pareho lang ang effect ng optiguard sa regular waxing. Can anyone share their experience?
I had the new car paint protection (not the optiguard package) done by Big Bert's on a couple of vehicles and after 5 years, they still are shiny (of course with regular waxing after-twice a year). Had it done on a green, steel grey and a white car before the T32. We had to sell the green one to get the T32 and the shiny paint added to the value of the car. Comparing it to a car we had 9 years ago that had regular waxing but no paint protection, I should say that car without paint protection was a bit duller.
The 4km/L reading is probably a fluke or the computer is still calibrating the FC. I never got below 5km/L on my T31 Xtrail even with 1hr of idling. Actually it's hard to get 4km/L unless you sleep in your car.
Nissan Shaw uses Solar Gard Titanium and so far it performs well on my T31. Miles better than the 3M of Toyota. But VKool is still the best but the price is freakin high! So in terms of performance:
1. VKool
2. Solar Gard
3. 3M
I also tried Big Bert's new paint protection on my T31 and so far sa good. It's been 3 yrs and the whiteness is still there. Just don't use dirty cloths as the dirt can smear on the plastic film. I thought it was a scratch but good thing it's just dirt.
99% of the time, the free 3M tint that dealerships offer is the 3M FX-ST OEM series. This is rubbish -- that's why dealerships are offering it as a freebie.
However, if one compares 3M Black Chrome or Color Stable series with the equivalent range for Vkool or solarguard, the 3M performs about the same as Vkool, and way better than Solar Guard. Have to compare apples to applies here. If you're looking at a metallized tint, then compare it to Black Chrome. Non-metallized would be 3M's Color Stable. Then you have Crystalline, which compares to the Vkool clear tints.

Thanks for this bit of info. Was wondering why they'd design it that way.
Finally my T31 will be assigned to our consultant! Will start quoting for 4x2 and 4x4 variants. Did Nissan upgrade some features for this year or is it still the same?
