Dongfeng-Nissan are prepping to launch a stretched wheelbase Teana to join the race for ‘L’ cars in the Chinese market. The new Teana was launched just several months ago, the Teana has been in the Chinese market for three generations of car but the latest generation has become a world car for Nissan where it is known as the Altima in the North American market.

The stretched Chinese Teana will be stretched by an impressive 150mm and will be powered by a sole 2.5L four cylinder engine, Nissan has dropped 3.0L V6 and 3.5L V6 models for this generation in the Chinese market.

The current Teana measures in at 4868x1830x1490mm and has a wheelbase of 2775mm, with the stretched version seeing its wheelbase pulled to 2900mm in total. Chinese media are speculating that the Teana-L will become known as the Teana Cedric for China and will take the place of the older Fuga models, leaving a suitable product gap for which Infiniti to enter into later this year when production begins.
