We are now finalizing our car loan application to get the Sylphy. Still undecided though on the color to get... white or gray? Friends told me to just get the gray kasi dahil dun sa effects ng pollution sa white. But my wife really like the white color. your thoughts sirs?

We really wanted a high car because of the flood like Montero or Sportage kaso daming cons kami naririnig. Hope we made the right decision.

Anyway been a Nissan owner for the past 15 years.

What do you mean by "natataas"? Itaas yung wiper just like any other car by pulling it up? I think the sylphy's hood is blocking the wiper for you to raise it up. But there is a technique for that, you need to turn the ignition in "on" position without starting the engine and then do a wiper spray (I don't know how to describe it, but it is somewhat tapping up the wiper control) on the wiper handle and the wiper will move on the center position of your windshield. Then you can pull it up so that it will not touch the windshield anymore or during those times that you need to replace it. This is what my agent told me to take caution specially during refuelling as most gas station attendants offer to clean your windshield. They might scratch the edge of your hood if they are not careful and force your wiper up.

Boss, when I turn it off will it go back to the original position (below the hood)?

    I'm guessing but it maybe..

If only nissan launched their diesel lineup alongside their petrol lineup? I don't know specifically for the Sylphy but I know the Almera has a diesel trim in India.

    diesel almera is good!
it has only the accent as its direct competitor... and i don't think nissan has a model that may suffer in sales, if such diesel is introduced in our market.. except the gas almera, which is already suffering now.. so what the heck!

I was just guessing that the fully synthetic oil used in 17Sphinx17's Sylphy was 5-40 or 15-40, if that was changed to a 5-30 baka mag improve pa fc. I'm guessing 1%-5%

Just had my front windshield tinted by Nissan North Edsa after 1k PMS. There should be no problem as long as not full black out tint. "medium" lang kasi pinili ko. Ang alam ko may ban is not the issue of partial or full tint, but black out tint.

In fairness maganda naman experience ko sa test drive with the sylphy top of the line. Definitely better ride quality sa 2014 altis ko. No doubt panalo to pagdating comfort and cabin insulation. I feel like I'm driving a vios din kasi the view from the driver seat is good unlike sa altis ko na parang magdadalawang isip ka magmaniobra kasi ang taas nung dashboard.

The cabin lacks innovation, too simple and straight to the point. Not exciting.

My other concern is yung engine power and xtronic cvt. Good at low speeds pero di talaga humahataw even in sport mode. Sport mode just causes unecessary engine noise imo. I don't understand why the ecu holds up the rpm in sport mode.

Overall, okay tong sylphy if chill and smooth driving ka palagi. Imo marami naman good points tong sylphy.

Here is what happen, my complain was that i cant hear any sound from the back when i adjust the fader of the radio, the SA after a while approached me and said that it is really like that because the 1.8 model here has only 4 speakers, two at the front door and the two tweeters on the side of the windshield and the back where the third break light is no speakers, that is what he said to me. i told him that from what i know, the back doors has two speakers and the place where the third brake light is, there is no speakers.

The SA said, ah ok sir, hindi nag ka intindihan yun pa lang sa pinto sa likod ang walang tunog, ok sir, papa check ko. in the first place, i did not asked them to count the speakers, second i am clear that my complain was about the sound at the back when i adjust the fader of the radio, either he dont know the placed of the speakers of 1.8 sylphy or people here in nissan shaw service are incompetent!!!!

    They Make my day.

that's strange... tasado sa speakers ang hi end model nila...
hindi kaya, may speakers nga sa likod, nguni at hindi lang naka-kabit?

i have a dangerous method to find out if there are speakers or not behind that wall...
get a fine wire or needle. blunt one end by bending it into itself. then stick it into the supposed speaker hole on the door panel.. if there is a speaker cone behind it, you'll feel it.. be very careful, as you don't want to punch a hole thru the cone..
    good luck.

The installer might have forgotten to install the rear speakers (which are on the doors) wire harness. Mine has six, 4 (2 FR + 2 Tweeters) + 2 Rear speakers.

I'm actually curious how or what type of speakers we can install at the rear deck (aka Parcel shelf).

How is your sylphy sir? Is it confirmed that there are indeed speakers in your rear doors but the wiring was not attached to the stereo? I checked my 1.8 and there are indeed 4 speakers, 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear doors and all are functioning when I set my volume high. I was wondering how to test the tweeters on the side of the windshield.

I took the deep iris grey but the white looks better in my opinion. The reason I didn't get white was because I am still fearful of white paint turning yellow overtime as it is naturally for the sealer/clear coat to fade through the years.

The white would also fare better when getting dirty with dust (not mud) after it rains. Because of the constant stop and go of the rain, I keep getting watermarks (droplets of rain left on the car that gather dust) and just don't have time to have it properly washed (full body). Not a big concern, but It is just visible and unavoidable. Of course, if you end up with black then the dust marks/water stains become more visible or stand out more.

    My two cents.
