I also got 26 km/L (full-tank method ha) on my Vios but that was only over 110km (Subic-Manila via SCTEX/NLEX). Redid the test over 240 km (Manila-Dinalupihan-Manila) and it was a more realistic 21.3 km/L.

Maganda FC if pure highway driving. In city driving, 7-9 km/L lang talaga siya depending on the conditions.

If he drives a mirage or a mazda with skyactiv. He could very well achieve 30km/L

The sylphy engines are good but some are better.

Here's my cars MID result. I do not claim this to be accurate. It is what it is po. As i've said i too am puzzled if this can really be achieved by the car. When the timing is right i'll try to run the same nichols to calamba tollgate with manual full tank method po. Thank you for the patience and all the inputs sir jut. Will post again as soon as it will happen.

Sir yun manual pala already has keyless entry with trunk opener sa key nya. All variants have 4wheel disc brake na din and Anti theft system. You also get 2 master key not just a duplicate. 16inch wheels for the 1.6 and 17" for the 1.8 all the basic needs are already there.

30k is the max disc. as I know but you can ask for a bit more. Bang for the buck for me sir. Even my unit doesn't have dual zone a/c it can cool everybody with no complaints. After awhile my passengers even ask me to lower the blower to the min. even it's high noon outside at 38 degrees. No sweat!

The Sylphy really needs some more attention. I thought that the 1:10 ratio of Sylphies to Altises sold was an exaggeration, but turns out it's actually true:

Is the Mazda 3 sales data true? I see more Sylphy's than Mazda 3s on the road. Altis is really hard to beat as it is miles better than the previous gen. Sylphy should first target the Civics before Altis.

Yep, consistent with 2014 data, as well as articles I've read on various local auto sites.

Nissan ruined itself in the 2000s, so the newly formed NPI has a lot of catching up to do. Dropping the 30-year old Sentra nameplate for Selfie was another wrong move. I'm pretty sure the name alone dissuades some potential buyers already.

That is true! I remember seeing a lot of sentra LEC and super saloon ( I think Richard Gomez was in the commercial) during my college years.

I am not even sure if I've seen a sylphy on the road There are lots of Mazda 3s in our office parking lot and not a single sylphy. I really like how the Mazda looks, especially in white!

If you're not familiar with how it looks like, you most likely won't notice it. So far I like my Sylphy (except for the recent Horn failure). I see 2-3 "mates" along EDSA, Q.Ave, and Banawe everyday. In Malacanan palace, amongst other places, I like that I get to park wherever I want (I am not shooed away) and they're not so strict with ID (as we're too lazy to get passes). The guard/police, probably can't discern how much the car is as it looks elegant (okay, it's a daddy car). You'd be surprised at security guards because they size up people based on the car they drive whether they can be pushed over or not.

I agree, the name should've been Sentra but since the old body sentra is still selling (and in local production, IIRC), it's understandable why they chose another name. They could've used Pulsar though. or Super Sentra, Sentra Bluebird, Sentra B17. Sylphy actually is cool if you know what it means (imaginary beings in the Air; A slender young woman) but we're in the Philippines...

In Singapore, there's a 1.6 DIG-Turbo Sylphy (190hp) I hope it's also sold here. The same engine will power 2015 Teana along with a 2.0 Diesel (180hp). I'm somewhat excited to get a Diesel Teana (Altima) but I'm also wondering about the 1.6 Turbo. Because Sylphy spoiled us with space, I want an even bigger car like the Altima but I'm scared of the gas consumption of the 3.5L

Last Monday, I brought my relatives to the bus station in cubao and in the trunk, among with their luggage is a Japanese MTB (26er i think). It's nice that I was still able to close the lid with all that stuff - with still a lot of space.

to fellow Sylphy owners, have you had your horns fail so far? My High tone failed a few weeks ago and it was replaced (both Low and High as a set) but now, after just a little over a week, it failed again (I think the Low tone this time). I don't want to "upgrade" yet to aftermarket horns. The stock relay is just 15A (Japan). could it be the culprit? I'd readily upgrade it to a higher cap Bosch if only I am sure it's a straight away swap.

Also, I think it's highly unusual that disc horns fail. Brand is Miyamoto (Made in Japan). Japan, so it really got me surprised. I'd understand premature failure if it were made by the chinks but not by the japs.

So far, that's my only gripe after owning this car (1.8V) for a year. PMS is very cheap, gas consumption is great. Suspension is topnotch. It glides like a canoe on a still river even at 180kmh. Freezer of an AC is a treasure esp last summer. Heater though is a bit too hot although I have not used it yet in very cold weather. NVH is good also (although not as good as my favorite quiet car, Ford Expedition). Now at 16K.

One more thing, my not-so-gripe is the Alternator. Apparently, it only engages when you decelerate (for fuel efficiency) but according to "internet-stuff" I've read, it will kill the battery prematurely. So far, stock battery is ok.

You said it all sir! I'm also very happy with my Sylphy. [emoji106] it looks classy indeed. I have entered subdivisions without even being stopped by guards.[emoji3]

Mine is 6months old and my horn is still working fine. I have no complaints nor warranty issues with the car. Everything is running as it should. When i see people in others cars in traffic and start fanning themselves inside that's when i tell myself that i made the right choice in buying a nissan. [emoji41]

Atleast we have overtaken the Elantra, although just a small margin.

The Sylphy could pass as a midsizer with its presence, especially with the 1.8 which has aptly sized rims.

At the end of the day though, noone's buying. Whether its reliability, name, looks, or whatnot, the Sylphy is beaten by even the lackluster FB Civic and aging Lancer EX.

NPI has a lot of catching up to do. They have no offering in this segment for I think almost 7 yrs to the point people forgot that Nissan also sells a small size sedan. Almera's design is too quirky but so far it's picking up quicker now compared to last year.

They had the N16 and Sentra 200, but both were lackluster cars.

The Almera outsells the Sylphy 4:1, but that's because the subcompact market is much bigger than the compact market. In terms of segment share, the Almera only has 3.6% market share while the sylphy has 4.8%.

Hmmm... How about if Nissan would market a NISMO dressed/designed Sylphy and Almera during their virtual racing event GT Academy? I guess this would be a good exposure for the brand and the upcoming possible sale of its GTR in the country. I hope they will not mess up in the future again.
