Same engine and transmission specs din nang sa Australia.. May bibili kaya ng de-gasolina nila? Sana meron ZD30 380 N-m Torque with 5-speed A/T Combo. 275/70/16 pa rin ung wheels no? Hindi na automatic-climate type ung aircon? Parang nagdowngrade pa ah. Cruise controls would be a nice touch. Ang nagustuhan ko lang ung masaggressive na flare fenders.. gwapong gwapo.

CRD na rin yata ung bagong Super Safari.. Common rail lang ung injection, hence the additional power and torque. Pero hindi yata same ng sa 2.5 CRDi ng new Pathfinder and Navarra with 410 N-m torque.

The Nissan Patrol maintains the legend while adding unprecedented levels of style and some very useful features. For example, cruise control is now standard equipment on all Nissan Patrols, and you can now choose between the powerful 4.8 litre petrol or the all-new 3.0 litre common rail intercooled turbo diesel engine.

This 118kW common rail turbo diesel powerplant offers all the benefits of diesel fuel economy with the kind of performance that is normally associated with petrol engines. Alternatively, the 4.8 litre petrol engine pumps out an impressive 180kW, making it the most powerful in its class. And it offers a massive 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

The M/T super safari has a lower final gear ratio of 4.111 compared to the previous model & A/T super safari with 4.375. what does having a lower final gear ratio mean?

actually it means that it will have a lower top speed (if you consider the ratio application on the same engine), but better top gear acceleration....depending on how well spaced the ratios are, mas gaganda talaga acceleration...

it just shows how far nissan phil. is behind compared to other regions when it comes to releasing their vechicles... i think this model is 3 years old already in australia and papua new guinea..maybe the engine is new but the body is sure old.. its just too bad... but its still a good suv..

Actually that's a higher ratio (4.111:1 sa MT, vs 4.375:1 sa AT). Sa gears, the bigger numbers are considered lower ratios. For example, first gear will often be 3.9:1, second gear 2.7:1 and so forth.

The ratio refers to the number of turns input shaft makes, vs number of turns sa output shaft. So on the MT version, every 4.111 turns from the flywheel gets you one rotation of the wheels. Sa AT, every 4.375 turns of the flywheel.

Assuming both vehicles have the same gear ratios (which is unlikely), the difference in final drive ratios mean the MT has more top speed, and can cruise at lower RPMs, at the expense of low-gear pulling power (basically it has a higher final drive ratio). In truth, the transmission gear ratios are often matched to the final drive, and most likely you should pay no heed to the difference.

If you can get the transmission gear ratios, you can compute the total effective ratio. Ito yung actual ratio from engine to wheel. For example, first gear might be 3.9:1, and final drive is 4.11:1, so every 3.9 turns of the engine means one turn of the flywheel, and every 4.11 turns of the flywheel means one turn of the wheel. The total effective ratio on first gear is 16:1. From there, you can compute your speed per gear, calculating using tire circumference vs engine rpm.

binenta ko black FM '03 at 800k. I was hoping na makapagupgrade ng unit. My choices are Pajero 2007 and eto ngang super safari. Ano kayang di ko pagsisisihan na choice? Kita ko pajero kahapon parang mas maporma pa dati kong FM.... any comparison between the 2?

hhmmmm.the ambitious carlos ghosn & his design team has ran out of ideas.they've gone partial only and the market stats never lies.patrols and pajeros cant dwell in tora bora.no no no.this is toyota territory.with that kind of hefty cash, i'd snatch the legendary prado.

I would expect the newer gas engine to give slightly better mileage figures i guess as it has more power and is a newer engine. CMIIW.
