May 28th, 2003 01:09 PM #1Featured on ESPN coverage of autosport this week :
A UK Company (MaxSym) is coming out with a 500cc 4-stroke engine for the SuperKart class. Traditional 250cc superkarts have about 90hp, while this new baby comes with 110hp, with all of the 4-stroke ownership advantages in fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance.
Here's the blurb from the MaxSym website:
CONCEPT RACING MOTORCYCLE/SUPERKART ENGINE
MC4 is an ultra-compact 4-stroke 500cc racing engine aimed at the 250cc 2-stroke Grand Prix motorcycle classes and Superkarts.
Weighing only 30kg, it includes a six speed cassette transmission and a dry clutch. Projected power output is 110bhp at 15,000rpm.
A development partner is currently sought for this project.
