    My sister-in-law bought a Suzuki Raider last week. I thought it was just a simple mope or something. She volunteered last night that I drive it for a feel. Ang tagal sobra bago mag-start, talagang sumakit ang tuhod ko sa kakapadyak. Tinanong ko sya kung talagang ganoon ba talaga ang bike nya, sabi daw ng Motortrade, normal lang daw yon.

    Tanong ko lang mga peeps, normal ba talaga sa mga bagong motorbike ang hardstarting na talaga namang sasakit ang tuhod mo sa kakapadyak? Buti sana kung mga electric start, kick start lang at talaga nga namang ang tigas padyakan. Tapos ang hirap pa nyang ibalik sa Neutral na talaga namang kailagan mo lalo na pag namatay ang makina, di sya pwede tadyakan ng nakahawak ka sa clutch dapat talaga naka neutral. This is the first time na nakagamit ako ng ganitong klaseng motorbike, very weird to think na napakamahal nya for this kind of crap. Sobrang bigat pa at ang ingay sobra. Nagtataka talaga ako sa tangengot kong hipag kung bakit nya binili ito. Sabagay, tangengot nga e.

    dapat isang kick lang, start na.

    are you sure na wala syang electric start? sobrang mahal nyan tapos wala man lang nun?

    normal yan kung may sira yung binigay sa inyo.

    wala ata talagang electric start ang raider, matigas na rin padyakan niyan kasi 150cc na yan. pero dapat isang padyakan lang yan. pero ang ganda niyan, yan lang ang nagustuhan ko sa mga underbones na naglabasan.

    normal lang talaga sa bagong motor ang hard starting kahit sa motor ko rin , nu'ng bago hard starting, bale gan'to po ang gawin niyo pag sa cold morning start, i-choke niyo po, tapos pag nag start na, lagay niyo ang choke to 1/3 open position para mataas ang minor , pag nag init na or prior to running saka niyo na po buksan fully ang choke, gano'n po talaga ang Raider wala siyang electric start pero may labas po ang raider sa Thailand na Raider R150 na may electric start, medyo may katulinan po ang motor na yan kayang tumakbo ng 150 kph, DOHC-4valve kasi, saka ginawa po kasi talaga yan na pangarera kaya siguro walang electric starter as designed by Suzuki...

    --kick start lang talaga yan bro. wala kasi lumabas na may electric start dito sa atin na raider 150.
    --matigas talaga kick starter nyan kasi sealed pa makina and 150 cc sya
    --raider 150 is still (up to now) king of the underbones (not necessarily in the field of comfort) it is a bike built for racing pero street legal
    --pag nasanay ka na sa kick start one kick lang yan
    --DOHC 6, speed transmission, etc makes it really a cheap bike compared to its counterparts. wala ka mabibili na 150 cc na motor below 120 k na brand new kundi raider lang
    --stock top speed would be 150 kph, modified could go up to 200 kph, acceleration from 0-100 (not sure) around 7-10 secs (unverified pero tried and tested na namin ni utol with a short distance hanggang 4th gear napapakagat namin at pumapalo na 90 kph
    --medyo not advisable for beginners.

    Tama si badsekktor (naunahan pa ako)... mahirap talagang i-kick-start ang Raider.

    What you have to understand is that the Raider isn't really a soft commuter bike, it's meant to be the sportiest of underbones. In other words, no automatic tranny, no electric starter, no compromises. And yes, you really have to give it a good kick. Even if you're used to it, it sometimes takes two or three tries to start.

    Acceleration is confirmed to be within the region of 8 seconds and below, and that extremely high redline (somewhere over 10k rpm, I think) is a blast. 6000rpm pa lang nakakatakot na siya... Too bad he sold it when he got his SiR fixed.

    Definitely bang for buck... but your Sister-in-Law should've bought something less hardcore, like a Honda Wave or something. But I've never ridden an underbone bike or moped that felt as exhilirating or as scary as the Raider. Maybe she should start joining racing events.

    hehehe ang laki ng binti nya pag tagal.

    ang isa pang problem ng Suzuki mahal piesa.

    Pero mabilis daw talaga yan accdg to my friends na riders.

    Kulang nalang diyan, raised footpegs, sports seat at aftermarket handles para mag-racing.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    if you want comfort yamaha's nuovo and mio would be my suggestion. ok din ang mga auto clutch na bike like xrm, wave etc for female riders.
    ang raider kasi eh start-up bike kung gusto mo mag-upgrade to higher displacement bike since hand clutch na siya and 6 speed mesh type gears

    para di OT: advice lang bro, mas kelangan maging heavier ang sipa mo saka mas swift yun padyak compared dun sa pagpadyak sa ibang klaseng bike. ok din yun gagamitin mo yun choke lever pag early morning start or pag naimbak na di nagagamit yun motor.
    try mo rin palitan yun spark plug nya (denso or ngk iridium).
    Palit ka ng engine oil kung mahirap kumagat yun neutral. avoid mo yun castrol, bang for the buck yun silkolene kasi mas mura at di mabilis uminit makina.
    wag ka magtaka kung mabilis uminit makina ng raider at hinay-hinay lang sa birit dahil pwede mag-overheat ang motor kung pangit langis mo. beter use repsol na fully synthetic pag break in na yun motor

    hmm.... tagal na rin ako di nakakapag-motor ah! meron kasi shifting technique sa raider. meron advisable rpm bago ka magpalit ng gear para di manlata yun mc.

    meron din syang wave, nagsawa na kaya raider naman ngayon. hayun kausap ko kaninang hapon, napapakamot ang ulo, dahil di nya akalain na mahirap pala daw ang ganito kalakas na motorbike, to think na babae (actually, tibo) sya. di ako magtataka na baka mabalitaan ko na lang na sumemplang o mabangga, i don't think that she can easily subdue this kind of a sport bike.
