Saw this uglylicious (rice diba I like rice) Santa Fe along Quezon Ave. Sorry for the picture cause it was taken while moving kaya malabo pero I will say na lang the decals...



Meron syang 4WD na emblem pero its obviously a 2WD only... Cause the CRDi badge in it is the badge for a 4X2, iba yung badge ng 4X4 na OEM eh. Sa kanya dinagdag lang sa tabi ng CRDi emblem yung 4WD emblem which is obviously a FAKE... Very ricey indeed. On top of that CHROME, CHROME, CHROME and a lot of them in all places. Tapos may golden PREMIUM badge pa. What the hell is that suppose to mean?

Diba may mga Hyundai dealers na gumagawa ng sarili nilang variant by putting in tasteless accessories and jacking up the price? Baka ganyan yun SF na yan.

Yun din ang mahirap sa mga "long-running" models nandito. Dealers have to make them look competitive to newer models kaya they put in lots of stupid accessories to make them look like value for money. (Isuzu Blingosaurus comes to mind.)

IMO ok lang sana yung stainless basta totoo like bullbars for pick-ups. Protection sa plastic bumpers. Kapag sa hway kasi ginagamit sa provinces, maraming sumusulpot na aso, baboy, kambing (malas pa kung baka) sa daanan. Kawawa plastic front bumpers. Di gaya nung mga dating sasakyan, metal pa talaga bumper.

i get the front bumper, i get the side skirts, but i don't get the rear bumper

ang haba ng extension pababa. i know the purpose of that extension is to make habol the line coming from the front and side. pero sa kakahabol pumangit.

i guess it's obvious by now i'm not a fan of aftermarket body kits. pero if you really really have to put a rear bumper chin on a Vios, ganito nalang:

Disregard the wing & scion badge. But the kits look nice IMO, dropped naman kasi. Rims are work IINM.

sorry if you find my remarks mean but its just my personal taste and preference in style. obviously we have different taste.

One thing why I don't like ricey cars is nanghihinayang ako sa mga cars na yun. For me, sayang lang, parang sana iniwan nalang stock yun kotse instead na ginastusan pero lalo lang pumanget.

Maybe for us ricey talaga, but for other people who has the same 'style' or preference as you, wow sila sa kotse mo.

So again, if it makes you happy, just go ahead and do it since its your money anyway, but don't expect us to praise your car and not express our unbiased opinion when you post your car here.

Akala ko kasi when the car is modified with monster engine under the hood and with racing kits e hindi sya considered as ricey. Even show cars pala could still be ricey. Sabagay, based on the literal interpretation of RICE=Race inspired Cosmetic Enhancements, e most modified cars talaga e ricey.

just like beautiful fresh looking ladies na kung minsan pumapangit tuloy and nagmumukhang cheap kung naglalagay ng over and makakapal na make up/cosmetics sa mukha nila. . Pero meron din namang iba na mas lalong gumaganda kung naglalagay ng mild na make up. (Ooops, No offense po sa lady members ha?) Just like in cars, kung minsan mas maganda pa yong simple lang. Or minsan, meron din namang mas gumaganda ang porma kung maganda ang pagka-set up.

And for us guys naman, iba-iba lang talaga ang taste natin sa pagpili ng cars &/or women.

Honestly, my influence is more on race/show/project cars, similar on those that I posted, not being aware that some of them are already ricey. I used to enjoy wathcing them in cardomain.com. where i am also a member. And I thought those cars are cool, e yon pala pinagtatawanan lang ng iba. hehehe!

many many years ago, gawain ng mga Asians sa Southern California ang pagmomod ng kanilang econocars (mostly civics). nilalagyan ng wing, large diameter muffler, etc.

kaya riceboys tawag sa kanila kasi Asians eat rice. yan po ang origin

usually ganyan ang taste ng mga newbie

gusto outrageous lahat. outrageous body kit, wild paintjob, large wheels, large muffler etc

kaya mahilig sa carshows ang mga riceboys

as you evolve (grow up), your taste will change
