If you're buying secondhand Japanese, be sure to shake it to check for rattles and rust flakes coming out of the interior, and knock on it to see if it's still structurally sound. "JASMA" certified mufflers are generally good when new, but some are notorious for rusting and for the insulation degrading.

Copied mufflers generally aren't as good, but you can get a decent one if you shop wisely. Make sure the construction is good and that the interior perforations are smoothly drilled, without tailings sticking out into the airflow inside the muffler.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Sound quality also depends on the entire system you're using. When I bought my Sentra B14 many years ago, it came with a JASMA Spec Trust muffler which sounded ugly. I was about to discard it but after placing my headers and intake kit, the sound became nice and deep (not irritating).

Yes, keep away from knock offs. In fact if your vehicle is basically stock, it's nicer to keep the stock muffler.

*shadow: Buhay pa ata Nodalos. Haha.

instead na muffler bilhin mo, why not an intake kit muna?
