some car shine products (some "simoniz" products, rubbing compound, and other similar abrasive products) sand away the dulled, less shine-y superficial layer of your car's finish, to bring out the mas matingkad na paint underneath it. after so many applications thru the years, unti-unti nang lumalabas ang grey factory rustproofing paint underneath.

What is the difference between Ceramic & Glass coating?

No one answered and I'm interested to know exactly what is the difference. This is what I found:

I had my car coated with Gtechnique CSL (courtesy of Optimum Impressions) and religiously goes to the carwash (with shampoo ofcourse, don't want my car to accumulate microscratches just because it lacked lubrication when it was being washed) atleast once a week. I am thinking of availing tar/asphalt removal every 6 months and claybar atleast once a year. Glass or ceramic coating does not make my car scratch proof/resistant but I treat it as another layer of protection, more like wax but will stay much longer. It's been 3 months since I had my car coated, and until now I am amazed how shiny it is (even when its dusty).

Pwede pa din i-clay bar kahit ceramic coated na? I’m also considering ceramic coating and from the same shop you had yours din. Any feedback sa maintenance, like how often should it be and if may additional expenses din.

In addition, kung gusto mo po madalian n paglinis. Bili k po ng micro fiber cloth and chamois pagkatapos mo pong gamitin car m kung maulan wash mo po agad gamit micro fiber habang binubuhusan m ng tubig. Then rinse with water pakapunas m sa lahat ng area ng car m. Then patuyuin m gamit ang chamois. Wala yan po n water marks.

Had mine ceramic coated usung Gtechniq also and after a month dami na agad swirlmarks and tiny hair lines although its not scratch proof pero I’m quite disappointed lang kahit after ma coat eh hindi naman nawala ang swirlmarks. Madali lang linisin ang kotse due to added coating. But I will see after my reboost after 6 months kung ano gagawin nila.

The ceramic coating isn't scratch proof talaga, kaya need parin ng proper car wash. Proper meaning 2 bucket method, using microfibers, etc. If sinabi sa inyo ng nag coat na di na need hugasan, then I think they are not a good shop kasi parang false advertising eh. Mas madali linisin ang car kasi hydrophobic but that doesnt mean di na lilinisn ng maayos.

kung after ma-coat ay may swirlmarks? ibig sabihin hindi maganda pagka-polish o prepped ng paint surface ng sasakyan mo bago inapplayan ng coating. ignore mo na lang mga deep scratches pero swirlmarks hindi man lang natanggal?[emoji849][emoji107] wala ako bilib sa detailing shop na ganyan, they offer coating kuno pero yung pinaka-basic na requirement prior to application ng coating eh hindi nga magawa ng maayos. tapos tatapalan ng coating yung scratches[emoji24] mag wax at sealant na lang ako[emoji2960]

Oo nga ano. 3 times ko binasa haha. Pero kung ganyan nga, dont go back to that shop. Proper detailing should have been done prior to ceramic application

Yes mga brothers right after the ceramic coating procedure napaka visible parin ng swirlmarks. I advised them sa observation ko bakit ganun. Sabi nila eh baka daw matanggal ang clear coat. Pero nung sinukat ng isang shop dito mataas pa daw % ng clear coat ko. And so yes hindi maganda ang preparation nila. Lagi parin sinasabi na hindi nga daw scratchproof etc. Sabi ko alam ko naman yon, and alam ko kung paano maglinis ng kotse. Hindi ko na nga ito pinapacarwash sa labas after the coating eh. Ibabalik ko nalang after 6 months sa free reboost ko. I guess puro ganun na lang gagawin yung reboost. Yun rin advise sakin na we will see on my 6th month. Haay! By the way the name of the shop is Primo Autoshine here in Molino, Bacoor.

Car wash, at turtle wax lang ako. tapos armour all sa loob.

obvious na hindi marunong ng paint correction yung pinagpagawan mo sir. ang babaw lang ng swirlmarks to worry about the clear coat. saka why worry eh papalitan mo nga rin ng ceramic coating[emoji23] then yung reboost nila, kahit ilang reboost pa yan eh papatungan din naman yung dating paint defect[emoji1787] i'm not convince sa pinagpagawan mo sir, seems like hindi professional detailer.

maganda rin naman magpa-coating sir, may advantage din sa old fashion wash and wax. depende lang kung marunong yung shop na gagawa. key talaga is yung prepping o paint defect removal bago i-apply yung coating. check out yung mga gawa ng optimum impressions at technical details, baka magbago isip mo[emoji2960]
