tried searching for "montero sport turbo breakdown air filter" or substituting "pajero sport", can't seem to find any meaningful results for the new 2.4 engine. improper maintenance?

sports filter = more dirt going to your engine??

Interesting.. By OEM, does this mean it's not an original Mitsubishi filter? I wonder what's the brand of the filter, if ever this is not the original filter installed by casa.

Also encountered this on my Ford Ranger T6 2 years ago, i had to buy the Turbo outside the country damage cost, 120k all in all including repair and installation.

I was planning to get this Montero, actually i already paid the reservation still waiting for a unit.

Ok yan si sir zix888. Mpagkakatiwalaan. Mukhang alam ng owner na wala sa warranty kaya pinagawa na lang kay zix. Tsaka may kapabayaan siya kaya ganyan. If oem filter yan, that would not happen in a normal situation.

^ paper air filters are really not meant to be washed, assuming the air filter is made out of paper material which is the most common OEM type

kaya nag "upsell"to use a "sports type filter"....

that filter looks like it was washed then installed while still damp. kaya nag-cave in kasi the water acted to block the flow of air then the paper collapsed and probably parts of it went into the turbo.

always dry your filter after washing. then inspect before installing.

I think no. As most oem air filters are not washable
