    If you're Toyota, why upgrade every aspect when you'd still be selling in droves despite the older tech? It's a welcome add-on, the IC and VNT on the 2.5L and IMO enough to keep the Fort selling as it does.

    *zix888 - nice graphic display. I suppose that's a comparison between a 3.0L fort against a 2.5L monty, both 4wd. Parang hard to believe lang na mas mabigat ang montero considering the bigger engine displacement ng fort. Is that what the specs of both suvs say?
    Kung sa drag race naman, lalamang ang may shorter gear ratio, 'di ba, everything else equal?

    yup its a 3.0L fort( cousin's 2011 model) and my 2011 gtv. well my monty weighs



    while based on my cousin's manual, fort weighs 1955kgs.
    our main concern was "rektahan", everyday nlex kasi kami. i told him if your fort wont break 200kph, theres no way he can keep up. nung nagkakape na kami, ayun iiling-iling. i told him dont worry insan, personally, i like the porma of fort( stock to stock), mas brusko and mas maluwag sa loob.

    ^ sabihin mo sa insan mo kaya rin yan ng fort dagdag lamg aftermarket tuning parts. Meron namang mga fort na kaya 200+ haha. Hindi ako biased i have both cars hehe.

    yup, actually we are just waiting for the parts for upgrades. but were are talking stock to stock sir. fc? siguro sir you would agree mas matakaw yung fort niyo kesa 2.5vgt?

    right. kasi when we went to la union(from bulacan both full tank), baguio then back to bulacan, may natira pa sa tank ko around 1/4( 70 liter capacity), nagtop up na siya sa tarlac on the way back( 80 liters capacity). plus directly macompare ninyo yung 2 very nice rigs ninyo sir, mas ma-dribble ang fort. 3 drivers kami palit palit ng rig on stop overs, same observation, i am sure you will agree din on that sir?

    Sa twists and winding road iwan din Fort sa MS based on my experience. Pero baka sa nagmamaneho din. la ba nakasubok na palitan ng driver sa ganung situation? Sa amin kasi, southern part is rektahan kaya important top speed and acceleration for overtaking buses na ayaw tumabi kahit mabagal at yung mga pila ng shuttle vans.

    North is more of twists and turns and uphill climbs. Plus some minor and medium offroading with crossings pa sa creeks.

    it all depends on where you will be using the vehicle more often, kung rektahan o acceleration... pero mas ok ata acceleration, bihira kasi maka over nang 120kph manila roads, even on provincial roads dahil napaka risky...

    lage ako sa NLEX, opinion ko lang napapansin ko na mas madami mabibilis na monty keysa forts, takbo ko 120-130kph then madalas meh monty na nasa likod at approaching fast... baka mas mabilis lang magpatakbo drivers ng monty's. haha.

    RY, iwan nang eve yung mga shuttles sa north, yung mga grandia pati urvan... hirap na hirap sa winding roads mga shuttle. haha..
    sa south naman buses talaga kakulitan doon... rektahan kase eh.. hahaha...

    2.5 fortuner vs gls v montero sport naiiwan ako ni erpat gamit ko nun fortuner kahit drive 3 wala parin lakas pa sa diesel... Non vgt vs 3.0 pantay lang kami tried it sa nlex 10pm 180kph both takbo namin kaso after a while nagexit na ko sta rita

    bukod siguro sa mas designed sa high rev yung monty(based sa specs), mas aerodynamic siya, which will definitely be a big factor lalo na sa high speed

    imho kahit 160 ka sa rekta pero pagdating sa kurbada eh baba ka ng 60 e cguradong mahahabulan ka ng syento bente lang ang takbo sa rekta pero pag kurbada e nde bumababa ng 80 or depende sa twist lalo na sa south, kung manual vs auto cgurado matatalo manual, UNLESS marunong ka heel-toe-downshifting, regular ako byahe manila bicol samar, innova vvti auto gamit ko, iniiwanan ako ng prado,forester, kahit BUS especially ang mga ULTRABUS sa straight, pero pag twist na nakakahabol ako dahil sa downshifting + engine break = balance out-in-out enter/exit sa curve tas OVERTAKE pag clear, MASARAP paglaruan ang shifter ng toyota, after 6 yrs na ganito style drive isang beses lang ako nag pa ayos ng cylinder gasket..... dahil palaging high rpm may oil na lumalabas, benta ko na innova pang down montero, break in to sorsogon this week! AND na try konarin fortuner vvti manila/bicol ramdam ang body roll unlike innova, malamang pati montero, taas e, in short nasa driver yan, peace!

    add ko lang 550 km ang distance mula cainta hangang sa byenan ko sa sorsogon, 55 liters fulltank sagad ang innova vvti, sakto 10km/liter ang consumo mix nayan ang trapik mula calamba hangang lucena, plus hataw pa sa 8hrs na byahe, post ko ang sa montero pag byahe ko bicol
