Malapit na siya mula GMA. Bale dun sa ilalim ng Kamias flyover (yung katabi ng GMA) kapag facing kayo ng Makati, mag-u turn lang po kayo sa u-turn slot after the Kamias-EDSA intersection. After u-turn, turn right into Kamias. Tapos hanapin niyo ang #92. Sorry hindi malinaw masyado.

Yung presyo nina Glenn pwede pang tawaran yun.

Lalo't masikip yung kalye. hehehehe.

Inspired by OTEP's post on the Nautilus, I went to G and S Auto Supply yesterday, but unfortunately, they were out of stock. So I went to Banawe and found the Nautilus at one of the shops there. It comes in three colors - black, red, and even chrome.

It cost me Php1,200.00, plus Php60.00 for wiring, and Php50.00 tip for the installer. It took more than an hour because I specified a separate electrical line for the air horn.

Sure enough, my ride now sounds like an industrial rig.

A word of caution - and query as well for OTEP who started this thread - every time I honk with the Nautilus, I hear an unmistakable humming sound as well, very similar to the sound you hear when you use your windshield washer. I always drive with my aircon on, of course with the windows closed, so the humming sound every time I honk is very audible inside my rig and is unmistakably due to the Nautilus.

My guess is that the humming sound is coming from the mini-compressor which produces the air for the Nautilus. OTEP, what do you think? Is this humming sound normal?

Hehehehe. Congratulations on your new purchase. Na-inspire lang po ako ni Ungas. :D

Yes sir, you are correct in assuming that that is the compressor working to power the airhorn. I think that is normal.

chronophile::: Have the mounting screws checked, baka po may tinutukuran na body parts yung buong horn assembly. It is normal for the compressor to make a humming sound due to the high speed motor inside it but not as audible from inside your cabin.

    HTH

OT: I was also inspired by the PBA during time out calls.

Cardo, baka sobrang lakas ng sounds mo kaya hindi mo marinig yung mini-compressor, hehehe. Seriously, with my stereo off, talagang audible and distinguishable yung tunong nung mini compressor. Wala na kasing space sa loob ng engine bay, kaya sa bandang ilalim na ng right part ng nguso ng sasakyan kinabit. Dun sa area malapit sa front right signal lamp ng rig. Didn't exactly see where or how the technician mounted it coz cramped yung shop at walang lifter so couldn't see.

Guess will check it tomorrow using a lifter.

For those who are still looking, sabe naman ng G&S Auto Supply, magkakaroon sila ulit this week. As usual, couldn't wait, so it was straight to Banawe for me. Really wanted to get it from G&S, though. Wouldn't recommend that you get it from where I got it coz medyo sloppy yung electrician. Didn't even cover all the wires from his work - nakabukangkang lang. Will buy wire covers this week to clean up his mess.

    Darn it, WHAT THE????!!!!!

Nag-short? Ayaw tumigil sa hiyaw nung Nautilus this evening while I was parking beside sa drugstore. Kaka-hiya! Everyone was throwing menacing looks at me!

Took me almost a whole minute to quickly cut the positive and negative connections ng Nautilus na narekta sa baterya.

    Hmmm...bakit kaya? Baka installer error.

Btw, make sure you place it where water won't get to it. I have mine in the engine compartment near the passenger side firewall. When I placed my old Hellas behind the grille nasira ng tubig baha (ok, tubig ilog nung lumusong kami sa Porac :D ).

OTEP, your probably right - yung installer siguro yung problema. Hirap talaga when the one installing is clueless about daily driving. I think his decision to put it low sa halos ibaba na ng front end ng sasakyan was a bad call. Should have insisted that he install it inside the engine bay, just like in your picture at the start of this thread.

Haynakupo. Traffic pa naman sa Banawe everyday of the week, except on Sundays kung kelan sarado naman sila lahat.

Just got back from banawe. Had the nautilus relocated inside the engine bay, practically in the same location as in sir otep's picture. Sabi nung electrician (not the same one who did the installation the other night), baka daw yun relay yung naging problema. Am no electrician, so had no choice but to try out his Php100 siemens relay. Paid another Php50 tip. Eto ayaw ko sa banawe, I always get the feeling that these people are always looking for ways to pull a fast one on you.

chronophile::: Matanong ko lang po did they use the relay that came with the package on its first installation? Balita ko lang po, madaling masira ang original relays ng Nautilus.

Yes, ginamit. May kasamang relay yung box ng Nautilus and I checked - the relay is also made in Italy. Noong una, sabi nung installer pag tumunog yung nautilus, hindi na kailangang lagyan ng relay - typical na tinatamad. Anyway, I insisted na ikabit nya.

Duda ko nga yung relay yung problema.

This afternoon, ibang installer yung andun. Meron siyang relay na two piece - parang male and female - at yun yung ginamit nya to wire the connections. Siemens yung tatak.
