By how much kaya mas mahal ang maintenance ng Pajero kesa sa ordinary economy car? How much higher does it cost to maintain as it gets older?

Change Oil - Around 6L + Labor = Mga P1500. YOu do this every 5k kms for me, thrice a year.

Yan lang regular cost ko sans fuel.

Full suspension makeover = mga 10k. Will last you 2 years average pero the thing feels like new.

    La na ako maisip.

Pero bear in mind the condition of the unit. Pag laspag, expect to spend extra on oil.

oil filter. yun ang mejo mabigat every change oil. i get the orig from el dorado, 1T+. dont get the cheaper one that they're offering. they only made that to match the price of the replacement oil filters in the market.

bro pk, what do you mean with suspension make over?

    Replace Inner/Outer Tie-Rods
    Replace Lower Ball Joints
    Replace Pitman/Idler Arms

    All for the front

Yung Upper Ball joints bihira masira but will set you back mga 2k if you do decide to replace them.

One more thing, yung Transmission support madalas din masira pero less than 1k lang and pwede DIY install. Greatly reduced ang vibration pag pinalitan. Mga every 2 years replacement.

My last oil change cost around Php 1,500.00 sa shop ni GlennSter. It included 6L of Castrol CRD, ViC C-306 oil filter, and Isuzu Elf air filter (nilipat ko na lang yung fanblades).

Especially considering how versatile the vehicle is.

Regular maintainance is no problem... just make sure you get one with a fuel system in good condition and walang leaks/loose compression.

nga pala, yung P1500 na change oil ko is inclusive of oil filter na rin. I dont replace my air filter kasi washable.

Tapos every year, mga 3.25L of ATF din. Medyo pet peeve ko yung AT eh hence the yearly replacement. Pero strictly speaking ATF life is much much longer.

    Kakafagod fafa ha.

Glow plugs: 4D56 1k+; 4M40 P300+. All the more reason to get the 4M40 hehehe.

Fuel filter nasa 1000+ yung orig. di pa ako nagpapalit for my current ride.

Gear oil nasa 1200 ata palit for FR/RR/Transfer; as needed lang replacement.

I got stuck in traffic for 3 hours today and saw a Pajero cross the center island with so much ease. It made me want a Pajero even more! Several cars followed the Pajero but 2 got stuck at the center island and had to be pushed by the passengers

My mom wants a Revo but can it do the same manoeuvre than the Pajero did kanina?

Can I get a decent Pajero for 300k? Also what are the maintenance costs (change oil, registration, wiper, tires, alignment and balancing etc) What are the future expenses/repairs that I should save up for?

I've used Bosch, ViC, and OEM (pinopromo nila yan ng Php 500.00/ea). I've not used any brand kaya no experience din.

Btw, I've had the unit since 2001. Have not replaced the glowplugs, tranny support, no calibration, no overhaul.

    Stuff I have replaced:
    *Front suspension rebuild sometime 2002
    *Suspension lift around 2004
    *Bigger wheels and tires

My ride is basically a 'drive and forget' affair.

Is Castrol CRD better than Delo Gold Multigrade? Any Opinion did you try Delo Gold Already in your Pajero.

    sir,
gear oils usually mga every 2years ang palit. so does with power steering oils and automatic transmission oils.

here is a sample of my maintenance:
    Gen1 pajero:

oil change- every 3th km. use ordinary oils ang vic oil filters
    air filter-washable kaya never replaced
fuel filter-replace it yearly (vic lang)
power steering, transmission atf (matic), rear diff gear oil, brake fluids- replace it yearly
idler arm- yearly replacement (kasi naka sus lift on 33in tires. dali masira) 555 lang gamit ko
tie rod, ball joints- replaced it once lang. used the pajero 4years
    pitman arm- never
greasing of all grease fittings (suspension and propeller)- once a year
    clean brakes every 5th km
clean the intercooler and hoses once a year
engine supports- replaced it once lang
like i always say... oil is cheaper than replacing the parts....

    my 2 cents...

Thanks. Hindi naman pala ganon kamahal as people perceive it to be. Pag 10 years old na ba Pajero ok pa rin?

generally ok naman. pero afaik, 4D56 engines lasts around 200th km bago overhaul. i used to own a 1990 gen1 pajero. total mileage niya before i sold it was 105th. got it at around 76th.
engine and injection pump was still is in original state.

btw, what pajero are you planning to buy? local or imported? year model?
