July 21st, 2008 04:16 PM #1good day. I am planning to replace the stock air filter on my 4D56 2.5 TDI. By the way, the ride is a pajero J-top (from subic 7 years ago).
what are the things I need to consider (e.g. tube diameter, filter size, mesh vs. foam filter) in acquiring a performance filter?
Is a simota mesh air filter appropriate?
An auto workshop recommended using a filter replacement set for lancer GLi engines., is this OK?
Thanks guys

Yup, you need to consider what you mentioned in your post. But most carshops that sell performance filters should be able to mount your filter without any problems. Another thing you should consider is that if you change your stock filter to performance type ones, there'll be more engine noise.
Simota is ok, or you could also look at K & N filters.
