We prefer having the 3-way setting ng suspension.

Sana po you can provide your thoughts soon bago pa magkamali kami ng decision. Maraming salamat!

if you still want OEM, mas mura if you just go muna to el dorado sa aurora blvd, i think mga a bit over 8k lang dun, you can haggle pa for discount. papayag naman diamond motors fairview na sa labas mo bilhin yung parts eh. sino SA niyo dun? si johnny bravo yung samin, ok naman siyang kausap and mabait pa. heheh.

a good alternative would be the rancho 9-way. :D

Ano po yung rancho 9-way? Magkano to at saan pwede makabili at magpa-install? Mapapagana pa rin po ba natin yung 3-way setting?

Saka ok din po ba ang bilstein???

    sir mik,
pag rancho or any aftermarket shocks, hindi na pwede gamitin ang on board switch ninyo. naka design kasi yan para sa original shocks ng pajero.

you can visit www.gorancho.com for more detailed info.

Wala namang Php200.00/shock ang standard industry labor rates for installing them (you can also install them yourself. Even the sensor is just held on by two nuts (or screw nga lang ata yun) per shock. The shock istelf is just held by bolts on the top and bottom part.

Php100/shock lang ang siningil sakin for the install. Yung unused sensor, naka-zip tie na lang out of the way.

Sa laki naman ng natipid, I wouldn't really miss those sensor and control thingies. Napa-full interior detail ko pa sa Big Bert's with wash and wax and napaayos ko na din yung mga ibang sira.

I wouldn't recommend RANCHO. They ones they have for Pajeros are too soft daw. Most of the Rancho users at 4x4wire.com have gone back to KYB's.

O nga. Wow on how much the OEMs cost. My friend tried Bilsteins on his 2.5. On his 18" rims, the ride was somewhere between Soft and Medium. None of the boat-y softness of the Soft and the harshness of the Medium. He also used to go Medium when he has 3-4 people onboard with him. With the Bilsteins, he didn't have the problem of too soft a ride once laden with 5 people. He, however, said that the ride on my LC120 with 20" rims and Old Man Emu (OME) shocks wasn't as harsh as his. Dunno now if the OMEs are actually softer or if the diff is in the suspension.

P6,500/shock niya nakuha yung Bilstein. P5,200/shock yung OME.

Ako im using Monroe Shocks for my Gen 1 Montero. Cost is 960/pc. I thinks its a US made pa and im satisfied w/it. Magnum 60 yon series six way self adjusting.
Shocks adjust by itself dipende sa load and road condition. I dont know lang kung meron for Gen2.5.

OEM - 8k - Expensive but you get the 3-way setting back
Rancho - 7k - 9 way adjustable but maybe too soft
Bilstein - 6.5k - No bad experiences by users so far
Old Man Emu - 5k - No bad experience
KYB Gas-A-Just - ? - Better than standard KYB pero magkano kaya to?
KYB Gas shocks - 1k - Economical but ride maybe harsh. GR-2 to or o Monomax based dun sa web site?

So many choices mga pre i just got confused...

Old Man Emu and Bilstein are safe choices.

My butt is already fine with the base model KYB gas shocks. They're also nitrogen filled, btw.

Just to add some comments to the 9-way adjustable Rancho, although it does give you flexibility, it isn't as easily adjustable as your 3-way in-car settings. The 9 clicks to the 4 shocks will have to be done to the shocks themselves, so most of the time, you'll probably just be leaving them at one setting. Make sure to check how this dial will be positioned once installed so you can determine how easily or otherwise it will be to change the settings. As to being too soft, on the contrary, I heard from another friend that he installed them on his Strada, and despite being on the softest setting, ride was still harsh. But then, that was an unladen pickup vs. a heavier SUV in your 2.5. But still, I don't think the Ranchos will be too soft.

Like what Otep said, OME and Bilstein are safe choices.

I'd recommend Rancho 9000x's. They are in no way too soft for the Pajero Remember the guys in 4x4wire are mid to hard core off roaders. Therefore they run their rigs differently.

I have Rancho 9000x's on all four corners of my Gen 1 and Gen 2.5 Pajs. The ride improvement, especially on my Gen 1, is remarkable. Plus it gives you the flexibility to adjust the damper settings -> 1 the softest - 9 the stiffest.

Current setting set up I have is 5 up front and 3 at the rear. When fully loaded the rear goes up to 5-6. A 7+ setting is definitely hard.

You'd be safe with Bilsteins, Rancho, or OME's. Yun nga lang sa OME you'd have to get the package (shocks and their springs together) to get the maximum comfort level it promises. "Matched" kasi ang shocks and springs ng OME.

    sir mik,

sa pajero gen1 ko naka rancho rs9000. PERFECT!

ngayon nag test ako sa pajero gen2 (subic, 4M40) kyb. its so stiff. as in matigas ang ride. sakit sa katawan.

3 way adjustment lang.

    peace..

We use OME shocks with stock coils on our Land Cruiser (see sig). OME is available from RATS (Katipunan/Alabang) while Fusion R along E. Rod (nr. Balete Drive) sells Bistein.
