September 26th, 2007 01:31 PM #12This is a very old thread na yata, kasing tanda na nung Pajero ko. . Anyway, I just want to ask kung meron pang ibang nakapag palit na from 4G54 engine to 4M40. I want to upgrade my engine para I can use my Pajero more often. 4.5km/liter kasi ang consumption.
May available na ba na mga 4M40 engines, and magkano kaya?

I did it with my GLX Pajero Gen2. The engine cost is 120K including the tranny but I did not use the tranny. Change only the engine. Labor cost is 5K. This was 3years ago. Walang conversion bolt on. We started 8am finish around 4pm running na. Simple parts nalang the next day. BTW kelangan mo ng Air Filter at yong housing nya plus yong hose connecting to the turbo. Hose ba tawag don?
PS Fuel filter pala kelangan mo din pang diesel.

Install a V6... Nasa 5-6 km/l city drive pero bilis...
I believe try mo muna i-daan sa proper maintenance yan sir. Ganun din sa diesels, hassle din sila kung not properly maintained, not only it will bring you bad fuel mileage but also kotong cops lurking for SUV's emitting black smoke.iam3739.com

It will fit basta kelangan lang yong pinangalingan ng 6g72 is also from Gen2. You just need to get the torque converter of 4G54 if matic. Kung manual naman bolt on lang yan.
Pajero GenII if local lahat yan Super Select na but may mga Imported na hindi super select. Mostly Pajero GLX with 4G54 engine don't have super select feature. AFAIK
