is it wise to buy a pajero FM bnew eventhough it's an old model? i think 1998 pa ata yon.

i still like the body and they say it's economical. arrgh i'm confused already.

I would suggest that you wait for the Fortuner to launch before you finally decide to buy brand new Fieldmaster. Para di ka mag-sisi in the end pag nakita mo na mas type mo pala Fortuner.

If, after checking, you feel that the Toyota Fortuner is not the ride for you, you can always go back to your friendly Mitsubishi dealer and get the Fieldmaster...

89K is very very high for a 2002 model. 56K palang ako 99 model going 6 years na.
6k isa yan, iba ang lambot ng orig locks. idler and pitman soon to be replaced. brake pads lasted 48k not bad or a suv. complete list of repairs ko na yan. HTH :car:

okay, i checked, timing chain na ang 4m40.

ako...i'll be replacing the tires, malapit na maging slicks eh. heheh. oh yeah, yung hydrovac din (under warranty), super tigas preno. other than those, wala pang ibang napalitan.

With FORTUNER having a little advantage over dimensions and new diesel technology at lower price, I am sure this will hurt Mitsubishi's sale figures for the PAJERO. Hopefully, the SUV that mitsubishi promised that they will launch as affordable, would buffer the launch of FORTUNER. But Mitsubishi has to react fast, or else they might be left far behind!

Mitsubishi has long recouped whatever expenses they had in developing the GEN II Pajero so sales is not really a primary concern.

I'm not sure what they will launch to counter the Fortuner, though.

    otep,

what's your consumption on your Paj? both city and long drive?
how much is an average PM?
do you have any idea what's the consumption of new hilux 4x4? i believe that it has same engine with the fortuner.

i am still considering of buying a bnwe Paj FM kasi tried and tested na baka same mangyari sa CRV ko sabi nila matipid tapos wen i got it damn! swerte na sa 8km/l

    arrghh

Well, if consumption and paint color are your main points for your decision, I'm sure Pajero Fieldmaster na dapat mong kunin. The Paj FM is only 4x2, so it's consumption will definitely be lower than the Fortuner which is an all-time 4WD. The Paj FM is available in white, which is a color not yet available for the Fortuner.

But, again, I would advise you to wait for the Fortuner before buying that Paj FM. The sheer presence of the Fortuner, when you stand before it, should be able to, either discourage, or convince you of getting the Paj FM.

Kung atat ka na makita yung Fortuner, I've heard it will be on display at the Manila Motor Show at the World Trade Center from April 28-30, 2005.

Fortuner is roughly 250-300 more than hilux counter part... 2 models only

    Gas, VVTi, 2wd, AT, 1.3M++
Diesel, Common Rail, 4wd, AT, 1.5M++

    Hi Guys,
I am also eagerly waiting for the Fortuner but my choice is between selling my 97 suzuki esteem and get the wife a bnew RAV4 or sell my 97 paj and get a Fortuner (and also sell my esteem and get the wife a 2nd hand SUV but this will set me back more).

The price diff between the RAV4 and low-end Fortuner is negligible so if I want too be practical about it, I should get the Fortuner instead.

I am getting different info from the different dealers. Some say the low end Fortuner is 1.3M while others are say 1.5M up. Toyota Balintawak told me that they will launch this next month. What I am concerned about is that Toyota will increase the prices of their cars next month so I really have to make a decision soon but I can't because I don't have enough info on the Fortuner.

Mga bossing, can I have your comments on this? Thanks a lot.

I was at fort yesterday and they have test drives of almost all the cars here in ph.

i went to toyota booth and the dealer told me the same price 1.3M++ 4x2 and 1.5M++ 4x4 initial release will be diesel and they told me launching will be on 2nd-3rd week of may for the dealers and officially baka june na daw nila release.

i am still eying for the Pajero FM kaso when i drove the New Hilux which the engine will be same with the fortuner, DAMN! sagad! angtindi! hataw! 3.0 D4D of Toyota Rules panis yung DMax namin.

    Let's wait nalang
