Does anyone also know where I can get a Pajero parts list for the Gen 2 Pajero?

    Thanks ;)
Kung gusto mo na maganda dashboard better buy an original one. I think around 60k for Gen2 paj sa ELDORADO.

Pajero parts list...look for OTEPS posts, nasa signature nya yung "Kirks PAJ Parts"

    Hi there guys!

This is the place I have been looking for, I guess! May 1989 Pajero ako (Subic). I was already convinced yesterday to sell it at a loss dahil my wife and kids almost got into a very serious accident!
She was driving, going into a parking lot, narinig daw nyang may 'lumagutok'! tapos....ayaw nang kumabig ang manibela! (free play na!) Nakupo! kasama pa mandin ang 3 kiddos ko! (what if they were running at a higher speed down a winding road?)
A mechanic was asked to take a look at it, and was determined that the 'pitman arm' SNAPPED off! putol! basag!
Prior to that...pag dala ko...I felt na mayroong 'play' ang manibela...and parang hindi power steering...I thought, baka naman dahil hindi kasi orig ang steering box. (pinalitan na ang pitman arm and as per my wife, better daw ang handling now)
Well, to cut this story short (for now) I am glad there is someone out there who may change my mind about selling it after all.
jga22bo:I am looking forward to meeting you!

pparado, sked mo na yan kay joseph. are you based in baguio? that's quite a long drive going to joseph's place in paranaque hehe. have him check your gear box too. glad to hear nothing bad happened to your family during the incident.

    regards.

pprado, first of all welcome to tsikot.

Preventive maintenance would've prevented the incident with your wifey and kids.

Have your suspension checked at least once a year. Im confident that your faulty pitman arm wouldve been easily detected and replaced (for less than P2000).

Sabi nga nila, prevention is better than cure.

jeepcruizerph, may freeplay lahat ng steering wheel. Of course it would depend on the model kung how much yung said freeplay. Better check your manuals.

    pajerokid,
every 2 months nga ako nagpapa-check ng underchassis e....baka naman 'brittle' na lang dahil sa kalumaan? all brakes and alignment were rehabilitated just 3 months ago! BUT...i am not sure if the dude looked at the status of the suspension nga!
anyways..salamat sa concern and advice...sa palagay nyo ba, ibenta ko na at a loss? or joseph can make it truly 'roadworthy'? I am willing to leave the car sa kanya for a week if he will be able to fix it!

    Ciao!

Kung straight swap ok. Orig LHD and dapat A/T din. Also check the vehicle condition. The usual engine, under chassis etc...

Ang alam ko Leaf Spring rear suspension yung Dubai version as compared to the Gen 2's here na coil.

thanks for the reply..actually M/T siya..pero oks lang sa akin yun..unless meron kayong comment sa M/T na di maganda for pajero...according to the guy eh coil spring na both front and end..but of course have to see for myself.

we're actually planning to meet this wkend incase hindi niya mabenta yung pajero niya ng cash and we'll both go visit joseph.

may mga minor things to fix sa ride niya as he stated ( i actually appreciate his honesty)...can you guys check the list below and tell me ur estimates in case ipagawa ko mga ito...

    1. digital compass blanked out last december. finding a surplus cluster is a pain in the ass so i left it as it is.
    2. front bushings creak a little ( i changed the springs but not the bushes... mistake).
    3. aircon is cold, but still runs the old r12 gas.
    4. the intercooler heat sensor was bypassed in favor of a cooler turbo. the fan works all the time (had this rewound using fatter wires so it won't burn out).

We have the same ride. The first thing i did when i got my unit was change the Steering Gear Box to original Mitsubishi. Usually kasi kinakabit nila Toyota Gear Box and the "Pitman Arm" welding lang. Toyota yung isang dulo at mistubishi yung kabila. Quite dangerous so dapat talaga palit agad.

Joseph can do this. Prepare to spend about 20k (parts and labor). 3 to 4 days work. Give him a call because bihira sya online.

If you decide to bring it there, assume that other problems lalabas, papakita nya naman sayo....dashboard conversion, aircon conversion etc... etc...

    frt,

salamat! so u are saying, normal pala yung nangyari na yun sa akin...kaso mo nga lang...di siguro alam nung nag-aayos ng underchassis ko ang gagawin nya!
You are exactly right...toyota yung gearbox!

Bwiset! anyways, I will definitely see him in a couple of months...pag may oras na!
