I was hoping they would come out with a new v6 diesel. But oh well.

Well one can look at it in a positive light.
The Pajero will soldier on with the customers who love it and swear by it. It will be immortalized due to its bullet proof reputation. Just like the land rover defender. They may kill production but they will never kill its spirit. I grew up drooling over all the versions of this suv
Mitsubishi is disheartened with the low consumer sales and also pissed that even an evil terrorist group ISIS didn't choose them over Toyota. hehe.
Sad to see the pajero go away.
It's time to save up on a project 4X4, been itching to save and buy a Pajero BK Dubai version.
Time to buy that BK. hehehe
They have become so poor they don't have cash to update their line-up and the stricter pollution restrictions. Even the Galant and Lancer are joining the Pajero.
Mitsubishi confirms no Lancer, Galant, and Pajero successors are planned
Mitsubishi confirms no Lancer, Galant, and Pajero successors are planned
Some of the most-popular Mitsubishi models from the recent past won't get direct successors, the company CEO has revealed.
Mitsubishi fans probably won’t be happy to hear the stylish Galant sedan and the Lancer evergreen are not getting successors as the Japanese company’s CEO, Osamu Masuko, confirmed to Automotive News. The only reason for this decision is that the automaker doesn't have the resources to develop such models alone and hasn't been able to find a partner.
Instead, Mitsubishi will focus on compact and midsize SUVs, starting sometime in 2017 with a new coupe-styled crossover that will be positioned between the Outlander and Outlander Sport (ASX in Europe). The next generation Outlander Sport is next on the list and it will be ready in early 2019, Masuko confirmed.
“We are strong in SUVs and four-wheel drives. And that is what we would like to focus on as core models in the U.S. market. We have changed direction,” Masuko commented. “We are going to allocate more resources to the areas where we are strong in the U.S.”
Masuko also revealed the SUV lineup won’t be joined by a full-size Pajero successor because of fuel economy concerns. A direct successor for the i-MiEV is also not planned.
Ganda pa naman ng 2 door...

I think mahina na ang Mitsu globally even Koreans overtook them when it comes to sales
Solid model kaso wala eh. Pinabayaan ng mmc. Pajero ck ang the best in terms of looks pero kahit outgoing gen 4 which is the bk napag-iwanan na ng marami. Sadyang pangalan nalang talaga at rarity sa kalsada ang nagdadala rito although for this decade, it has nothing else more to offer outside of them.
Well, matibay siya for what it is pero yun nga, being modern is not its strong suit na.
Mitsubishi has long killed its flagship models when it started its decline towards bankruptcy. The Eclipse, Galant, Evo, and Lancer were all retired so eventually, the Pajero suffered the same fate.
Not so sure now what Nissan plans to do with Mitsubishi but it seems the focus is towards the Asian and AU market.
