Are you sure?
No Factory Auxillary Fan on Montero Sport (3rd Gen)
Other people have made similar or related conclusions.
And I am not making this about the Innova.
So the new diesel vehicles at least from Toyota and Mitsubishi has improved their cooling efficiencies that negates the use of aux fans...

Our Granvia doesn't have an aux fan. It has been running without one for twenty years/171tkms. The standard clutch fan is more than strong enough. Very strong wind can be felt when the hood is opened.

100 percent, mas maaga ma-reach yung desired temp kesa walang aux fan. Mas marami rest time si compressor than oem set up na wala.

Apologies. That's what happens when I start going through the replies before I've had my first coffee.
Just to reiterate, most Diesels being produced now (and probably has been for a while), especially if the engine is longitudinally mounted, don't use an aux fan. The current Montero Sport may have the fan mountings in place but Mitsubishi, probably at the last minute, decided that it's redundant and an extra cost they can live without. We may never know the real reason.
If this is an actual issue, we'll eventually have at least several people complaining about overheating or exhibiting loss of power in hot weather. Until such time, you need not worry about it. Ignore the mount points. If you have an OBD-II scanner, you can check the actual coolant temperature in real time. In fact, if you're near Makati on a work day, we can meet up and I can connect my UltraGauge to read your MS' engine parameters.
Anyway, if it helps, try starting your vehicle and just leave it idling. Get out and put your hand in front of the grille. You will actually feel how much air flow is going by with just having the mechanical fan.
Update: I called Mitsubishi Phils Customer Relations Unit through (02) 250 8888 (7:00am - 3:30pm - Mondays to Fridays) to ask about the absent aux fan. A reply from their quality assurance engineer mentioned that the cooling system of the current Montero Sport is very efficient as it does not need an additional aux fan. The mounting points, electrical harness present are for Montero Sport units designated for other markets that require an aux fan. The old and trusted 4D56 that was used in the old Monty is still being used on the current 3rd gen Monty as an engine option in some markets. The mounting points and harness may be for the 4D56-equipped 3rd gen Monty's.
Thank you very much for all those who replied to this thread.
