as expected, 2016 yung release ng new gen Pajero....and the Triton/L200.... and the release of a small SUV..possibly an ASX replacement or an entirely new model.

I just hope that the 3.2 liter VGT turbo found in Japan make's its way here... I'd buy that even if it's in its's swan song year.

    Hello,

I apologize for reviving an old thread but I'm currently looking at purchasing the current Pajero.

Since there isn't any test drive units available in any of the dealers in Makati, I'm in need of advice from current owners and people who are familiar with the SUV. This will be my first Pajero if ever. I'm under the impression that the diesel variant we get here, in the Philippines, is under powered at least on paper (based on power to weigh ratio). Correct me if I'm wrong though... So I'm leaning towards the 3.8 V6 variant because I'm worried that the Philippine 3.2 Diesel variant will be too sluggish to effectively and safely overtake others on our highways.

    Your thoughts and advice?

I just want to make sure I get one with the proper engine... Also, not really interested in getting the Dubai versions.

Buy the diesel and then have it chipped and tuned properly.

Nope, it's so powerful. I have the 2013 with the 4m40 engine. Even with its small intercooler this car can run. Tingen ko nga for show na lang turbo neto. Even without it, siguro, it can beat my 2.2 Santa Fe in straight race. Pang-rally engine neto eh

The problem lang with this Pajero is it's got the heavy body and rather so stiff and hewvy duty suspension system.

But you know what, i have 30t km on it alresdy, and wala pa ako pinapalitan ni simple rubber bushing sa pang-ilalim. This car is definitely a keeper. i like to think of it as my own LR Defender.

Btw, Australia posted a test on this with say a contaminated diesel with like 30% water, it runs! Galing neto vehicle na to, talagsng pang African safari or middle east desert so i dont pay attention much on those Euro ratings. You can diesel up at those cheap PUj diesel rates in cheap fuel ststions without worries

Warning though, this is a 5 seater vehcile. It's not 7 walang kwenta 3rd row, it's like nag lagay ka lang ng monobloc bench . Not very useful in family long travels. Kelangan two car convoy kayo if you're more than 5.

Now available at all Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide, the 2016 Pajero gets an upgraded 4M41 engine with a new variable geometry turbo system. This brings the 3.2-liter 4-cylinder’s output to 192 horsepower at 3,800 rpm (up from 165 horsepower) and 441 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm (up from 373 Nm). Apart from just pure power, the upgraded 4M41 engine meets Euro 4 emissions regulations while also benefiting from improved cooling performance and stronger internal components.

regarding this euro4 engine compliant, what does it actually entail as per phil regulations? what are the ramifications if my car is not euro4, i will not be able to register it or i will get penalized? sory if this has been asked and answered before, havent gotten around to search for the answers.
