I dont know much about this unit but Im eying one and I like the 2.5 A/T 2wd variant.
Question: Is it underpowered? Is the Pajero 2.8 Field Master faster than this?

    TIA

Sirs, I'm still about to get myself a Montero. It's going to be my first new car after 15 years. The whole while I have grown an aversion from casa services -- they cost too much, they take too much time, and when time comes that you need to invoke warranty, either they'll reason their way out or require you to leave your car for X number days even if the part, however minor, is already available with them.

So, I hope to solicit advise about where I could possibly get my periodic checks for a Montero aside from, perhaps, Rapide, Bosch, or some obscure but highly efficient shop?

A proper HID upgrade for the Montero Sport, complete oem setup using FXr bixenon projectors, Philips 4300kbulbs, matsushita oem ballasts:

    from:

    stock halogen

    Output of stock halogen:

    To FXR/Philips combo:

    output

Aside from the increase in intensity (hid bulbs has 3x more lumens output vs. halogen bulbs), the width increases also.

    road output:

The HID system has it's own oem spec wiring harness and separate circuits for left and right.

Hi Sir Garyq, I guess that's my ride. The output is quite impressive. The bluish color band at the upper edge of the light adds to the "cool" factor.

To all fellow tsikoteers, this is my first time to install an HID light. I decided to go the proper way. Proper way means a complete HID Projector retrofit. Result is a clean cut-off without any glare to opposite driver. I just hate those plug and play HID that give a lot of glare, whether they are at the opposite lane or behind me.

Sir, question lang about your HID upgrade. All along I thought our montero was already equipped with projector headlamps, which meant the only thing we needed to change was the bulb itself - from halogen to HID. Now it appears that that's not the case.

Am I missing something here? Is there a difference between our stock projector headlamp and the HID projector retrofit being referred to above?

FYI, my car is a 2009 GLS 4x2 A/T model. Hope to get feedback on this. Thanks!

    Hi Sir Kapitan,

Yes our Monty is equipt with "Halogen" projector headlamp. It is not the same as "HID projector headlamp". The light source of the former is based on Halogen bulb design and if you install a plug and play HID on a "halogen" projector, you still get undesirable glare and the light output is uneven are there will be "hotspot" (spots of intense lights) and the width is limited. I must however say that the glare caused by such a set up is limited compare to installing an HID on reflector housing.

Therefore a total HID retrofit by replacing the existing Halogen projector to an HID projector is the correct solution. This way, you get a beautiful light cut-off which doesn't cause glare to opposite traffic and you have an evenly spread light that is very helpful in night driving. The width of the light is also maximized as you can see up to 4-lanes of the road.

    Hope this helps.

    hi,

paano pinapa linis aircon ng montero?

nasa likod lang ba ng glove box yun evaporator (easy access)? at hindi tulad ng mga toyota/denso ngyon an baklas lahat ng dashboard.

any non-casa aircon shop kaya ba linisin aircon ng montero?

    thanks
