Mas mayaman naman Mitsu as a whole kesa sa hyundai, IMO hindi ibebenta yan. Pero I might be wrong?

Pero malayo pa hahabulin ni MMC para maging whole year market leader. Kelangan ng Fusion at Lancer na ma-crack top 3 sa segment nila.

Until they bring in a diesel Fuzion, it's not going to be competitive. They're hobbled by the fact that they're getting it from Taiwan... which makes it more expensive, and makes it gasoline (Taiwan doesn't like diesel for some reason...).

A diesel Fuzion from Thailand would absolutely kill everything else in the market segment...

    Its not going to last...

Toyota hit a huge supply speed bump that slowed them significantly...

ASX - Selling decently but not to the levels of CR-V, and Tucson
Eclipse - Soon to be killed. A niche vehicle
Fuzion - Mas bumenta ang Adventure at ang Innova V kaysa rito!!
Galant - Executives in the 80's and 90's drive this, but now they're trading them for Camrys and Accords. Soon to be killed
Grandis - Probably needs a facelift.
L300 - Oldies but goodies!! (Lol)
Lancer - Decent sales, but not to the level of it's smaller counterparts
Lancer EX - Decent sales, but a 1.6-1.8 variant should be available to be a blockbuster hit
Lancer Evo - A niche car, but you don't expect to sell this in bulk
Montero Sport - Now everyone wants one
Pajero - Affluent families buy one
    Strada - More units...

One thing that Mitsubishi lacks, a real subcompact.
Sir, I believe the Mitsu Colt will be coming out soon to compete with the other compact cars.

Of course, since it still sells well, they're not going to change a thing...
What would you replace it with esp for the provinces? Wala kasi makatalo sa value for money proposition niyan at cash cow yan ng MMC. So hindi basta-basta mawawala yan untill the PI becomes rich as a whole. That's the sad reality. Yung Kia k2700, nakuw, mahina pa rin qualiy vs. the proven L300 kasi yung mga mining company dito sa amin, suko na sa K2700. Hindi na ulit bumili, balik sa L300.

Anything will break down with poor maintenance. I know commercial customers who were okay with the K2700... only problem really is the soft rubber in the suspension... which means, despite its large size, it's not that suited for high cargo capacity. They ought to have bought NKRs, instead.

I'm not against the L300 FB. The FB is a proven workhorse and is practical for industrial customers, but the Versa Van really sucks. Hot, uncomfortable, prone to corrosion and the build quality is very poor. If you get rust on an FB, you can simply patch, but rust on the Versa accumulates in the exact wrong places, again, making it very dangerous to the health of passengers inside.

If you were to get something ancient for hauling people, an Adventure or a Crosswind is a much better choice.

^ sabagay the adventure has the same engine so basically maintenance wise and FC is just about the same if not better due to better aerodynamics IMO.

Better safety for the driver, too.

And his sperm count. You know what excess heat to the crotch area can do...

Good to hear. Sad though they got Number 1 spot because of the Montero. What people failed to see is that the Lancer is a very good car. Build quality is nice. Engine is nice. Interior is nice. It doesn't really stand out but I would choose this car over the Altis, Focus and Civic.

Kulang nga daw sa 1.6-1.8 liter variat yung Lancer to match or at least make it a viable option vs the competition in view of the fuel consumption concious buyers.

now look at mitsubishi's approach. whoever's calling the shots must have metal kahunas. he estimates the future orders, and hauls in a whole slew of inventory. hence, waiting time was less than a month. (mine was less than a week.) it's a sellers' market, and mitsubishi knows how to seize the moment. (then again, it is a big gamble. they've got a lot of money locked up in inventory. toyota, for their part and to be fair to them, is known for their "just in time" philosophy.)

besides, the montero sport is such a good product that it sells itself. i remember not too long ago how the japanese dethroned american cars. american cars are notorious for offering to the consumer what they think the consumer should want. japanese cars, on the other hand, ask the consumers what they want, and then offer these to them.

recently however, things have gone a little off. i've always been a honda guy but the 2nd gen and 3rd gen crv's are basically disappointing, and at some point between the EK and the ES, honda suddenly decided to drop their sporting pedigree. what happened to the double wishbones? as for mitsubishi, they're read the market spot on. a tall diesel-powered A/T vehicle. use the tried and tested 4D56 and put DID and a VGT on it. and, oh, make the suspension actually ride-able. and to make things simply irresistible, lets price it competitively. net result: market leadership.

watch out though. korea's taking notes.
    Nice one, sir!

    Congrats to Mitsubishi!
