nabasa ko dati sa wikepedia, pag tinanggal ang egr tataas ang emissions mo, baka bumagsak sa emissions. and kung tama alala ko si dysdamon umilaw yung check engine light niya dahil sa egr malfunction.
Im not sure kung tama intindi ko sa egr, instead of venting all exhaust sa environment part of it gets burned again (from exhaust back to your air intake) during combustion to lessen sooth and particulate matter, yung dumi dapat maipon nalang sa oil then oil filter ang maglilinis, yun nga lang mas dudumi oil. pero naka bawas ka ng pollution sa air natin,
any engine experts out there pa explain naman,

March 19th, 2008 10:34 AM #2154gud day pajero gurus. share ko lang experience ko....muntik na ko kumuha 2001 FM black pormado sa labas..super kinis ang paint "well maintained" pa daw....pero b4 buying pinasilip ko sa gas station ilalim...low and behold...may leak sa power steering, may leak sa crankcase, lakas pa ng talsik ng oil from oil cap when opened...hay and its price is at 780k!!! sabi sa akin ng mechanic wala pa 1 year overhaul na daw... comment will be highly appreciated!! tnx

ericksi16gl, i also experienced yung talsik from oil cap, nag worry din ako baka overhaul na ako, pero when my uncle bought a bnew limite edition pajero, i checked the engine normal na malakas talaga talsik sa engine, if you really wanna be sure sa engine do a compression test. for sure malalaman mo kung blow by na. with regards sa leak di ko pa naexperience yung sa power steering area. but yung sa cranckcase ito ba yung sa likod ng engine kung saan nagdikit sila ng transmission. dati kasi nag leak din saakin, but after degreasing the whole engine, rear halfmoon lang pala ng valve cover.
check mo sir yung leak, AT oil and power steering is red, pag black engine oil yan. hth.
143pajero, sir 99 model po yung may manual na 4x4.

normal lang pala yung malakas na talsik ng oil sa engine? kasi yung lolo ko na may pajero 4m40 eh ganun din. ang dami na nga sira. ngayun, na uwi sa pag change ng engine. pero baka dahil rin yun sa poor maintenance nila sa car...
normal naman talaga siguro yan sir. ok lang yan!

March 19th, 2008 06:00 PM #2159bro sa dami ng repairs nyan tawaran mo ng 600. yun leak sa power steering depende kung saan yun leak, kung repair kit lang medyo mura lang pero matrabaho yan. yun crankcase di ko pa na-experienceso no idea ako dyan. yun talsik sa oil cap paano ba ginawa na test ng mechanic mo? di ba open mo yun cap then press mo yun palm mo di ba? kapag madaming splatter sa middle nung butas medyo babain na nga makina nyan.
yun dalawang nakuha namin before di naman nag-splatter yun oil sa gitna, mostly yun residue sa lid lang ang may oil

March 19th, 2008 08:35 PM #2160PB = un nga sabi mechanic, baka loosing compression..sabi nya dapat daw may "higop" ung sa engine oil cap pag lagay ng kamay..ok lang konti splutter of oil pero ung unit e ang dami lumalabas. di naman papayag ung seller kung pa-compression test B4 buying. About the crankcase tagas black talaga kaya oil talaga un.

JJCarEnthusiast = tama ka rin sir...sabi nga sa akin ng mechanic wala daw 1 year baka baba na makina for overhaul..pero worst comes to worst cahnge engine!
badsekktor = last price na un 780 sir! dati nga daw nasa 800 pa! wowowee cguro di alam ng owner na paalitin na sa ilalim nya pero to think that 'Well Maintained' daw
