badongski, dexron2. sabi saakin gamit daw sa casa is caltex ATF. ginamit ko is petron kasi kakilala ko mayari.

yan nalang ang nakikita kong problem sa gearbox ko. ok lang sa kin kasi hindi pa siya malakas pero sana maagapan agad. may iba pa kayang nakakaalam nito?

Hi. We just bought a 2nd hand Paj (FM 2001, A/T 2.8L 43k mileage) coz my wife really wanted it over a Fortuner or the new Montero Sport. Our previous car was a Honda CRV. I'm beginning to like it also now and i really love reading about stuff whenever i buy or planning to buy something so this forum has been helpful. I've been tryin to read from the start ever since. Now i have some questions regarding these: (1) brake squeak - i just had it checked and the pads are still thick, they cleaned it and also cut a slit in the middle for the rear ones. what else should be done or is this really normal for a paj? the noise comes and goes, (2) temperature reading - not working, casa guy told me i have to replace the whole module. is that right? i thought just the sensor, (3) fuel gauge - bouncing up and down. what's wrong? (4) oil light - sometimes lights up and/or is flickering esp when at standstill (5) AC - no more cooling after several minutes of standstill (we have a newborn that's why we have lots of standstill), (6) autoshop and parts shop for Paj - near Marcos Hiway (Antipolo). I hope to hear from the experts - Thanks.

you mind i ask how much you got your pajero???check the aircon for leaks, or it could be a defective compressor. for the brakes squeeking, nothin else you could but but check the brake pads if it is thin and clean and ensure that is is clean and free from dusts, if squeeking is still there then there might be a bigger problem. for the temp sensor, try going to banawe, motorix and ask for a spare sensor, CASAs are notorious for always trying to push and replace parts even if it could repaired.

1. brake squeeks, replace mo with oem. kailan nangyayari to? pag malapit na mag full stop?
2. temp gauge, may possibility nga na module, but pa check mo muna temp gauge baka yun lang problem.
3. fuel gauge, sending unit yan.
4. oil gauge, medyo delikado to, it means walang oil pressure. nag change oil kana ba? or kulang sa oil.
5. malamang sira na aux fan mo.

Ang baba pa ng mileage ng FM mo. Hindi siguro maintenance conscious yung lumang owner.

Patingnan mo muna sa suki mong mekaniko para malaman mo yung mga problema. Yung experience ko sa FM:
1. Squeek sound ng brake - palit ng OEM or magandang brake pad maski makapal pa.
2. Walang lamig yung aircon - patingnan mo dyan sa RAE electrical sa Marikina (kahilera ng Servitek sa A.Tuazon). Meron din silang mga piyesa at very reasonable yung presyo at ok yung service.

I'm new in the forum, i just got my late 99 pajero fieldmaster, 4x4, A/T.
It looks really gwapo, specially with its Euro look, no modification though, all stock except for ralli art rims.
I have a few questions though...

1. Is it normal that in the morning and whenever maghapon nakapark, namamatay ang engine pagkastart kung hindi mo muna painitin ang engine. Yung aking kasi dapat apakan accelaretor up to 2000 rpm, pag umangat na temp, dun pala aayos ang andar. What could be wrong?

2.may squeeking sound pag nagbrake ako, manipis nqa kaya pads?

3.parang kumakabig sa kanan, lalo na kapag nalubak, is this normal?

rlx555, welcome namin ang gwafu mong pajero,
guess ko lang to,

1. meron bang kasamang super itim na usok lapag napaandar mo? or pag start mo parang palyado? this could mean calibration na or may leak sa fuel lines. but pag ok naman lahat and no black smoke when you press the accelerator baka mababa lang ang minor mo, adjust lang dapat pag maiinit na nasa 750 to 800 rpm idle. tip ko llang dont step on the accelerator kapag malamig engine, wag sa 2k rpm, enough na siguro sa 900rpm
(you can use thr throttle knob on your right knee) nasa baba pa lahat ng engine oil baka mag maaga mag wear out engine mo.
2. try using oem pads kung squeek sound
3. pag konting konti lang kabig baka sa kalye na yan, alignment lang katapat niyan. minsan dito lumalaki gastos kasi pag nagpa align ka, need nila check up front suspension and pag hindi pa nagagalaw yan usually may kailangan palitan munang ball joints, bushing or tie rod bago pwede ialign.

mga guru help naman po uli,,kasi yung unit ko may tok-tok sound , nadidinig ko sya pag dahan-dahan lalo n sa may humps..parang dun sya nanggagaling sa may unahan gulong sa kanan..ano po kaya sira nun..maraming salamat po

ikawngaba, bro front suspension yan, dami pwede panggalingan. the best talaga dalhin sa servitek yan para maangat, kung DIY gusto mo, hanap ka ng kasama ishake niya ng ishake yung kotse, para maglaro front suspension, (kung wala ka bumper overider, dun mo patapakin kasama mo and talon kamo or pwede rin open front door the tayo siya sa side and shake from left to right, pag sa likod madali lang eh tapak kalang sa rear tailgate. ) and hahanapin mo saan lalabas yung sound. areas to check, front suspension bushing, balljoints, shocks baka sira na or shock bushing. the last time nag tok tok yung pang ilalim ko was galing sa front right brake caliper. but this happens pag tapak ko ng brake pedal.

rlx555, sa autocentro sa cubao ko nakuha, nalimot ko lang yung tindahan but naka post yan sa previous pages.

wow, tnx for all the quick replies. looks like the first thing to do is the oil light problem. it doesn't always happen and i just had it checked sa casa pero nothing about oil pressure problem tho i did not tell them about it (di ko pa masyadong napapansin nun since bago pa). also, nawawala sya pag i rev it up. what's the most likely possibility? i just had the oil changed to mobil 1 sa casa (heavy check-up). i got this at 750k. i will slowly follow your advices because i can only do it on weekends. i hope this can be fixed soon coz we plan to travel to ilocos during the holy week. BTW the brake squeak happens when i start pressing the brake and about to stop, esp in the morning (as i've said, kakalinis lang and makapal pa).

egsunio, kung bumababa idle mo ng sobrang baba. iilaw talaga yan, tuwing kailan umiilaw? maybe mababa masyado idle. sa brake problem mo wala naman problem diyan. medyo nuisance lang yang sound dahil pag metallic ang pads talagang may konting squeel. ganyan din akin dati nung naka bendix ako, pinalitan ko din agad, sayang ang arrive ng pajero kung pag preno natin, squeeellll.

Experienced squeaking sound before pero nung pinacheck ko sa Speedyfix, makapal pa daw. Recently lang I had them checked again and manipis na... So I, had them replaced with Bendix brake pads and nawala naman ang sound (so far).

Sa akin din dati kumakabig pakanan pero maski hindi nalubak. Dinala ko sa Servitek Q. Ave for alignment pero may tama na daw tie rod, ball joint etc. So pinalitan na din.
