Branded as the Ralliart edition, a brand new bodykit has been added to the newly launched Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1.6L Ralliart Edition, giving it a dynamic silhouette. More importantly, the car now sports a mightier 1.6-litre MIVEC engine to bring the thrill of the race on the roads.

The 1.6-litre engine is powered by a DOHC MIVEC 16-valve aluminium engine block with maximum output at 117bhp at 6,000 rpm and a meximum torque of 154Nm at 4,000rpm. The engine is lighter and more fuel efficient with higher output and torque. At low speeds, the valve opening is optimised for low emissions and fuel economy, while at high speeds, the valves are opened more to provide additional air and fuel to the engine resulting in extra power. This car also comes with an INVECS-II four-speed automatic transmission, enabling a smooth drive throughout the journey.

As with the previous Lancer EX, the 1.6-litre shares the same Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) unibody design. The RISE body structure disperses energy loads during side and rear crashes and controls distortion, enhancing occupant protection and also help to protect the fuel system during a rear impact.

A dual airbag system helps to ensure that the driver and front passenger remain safe in the event of a collision. Anti-lock braking (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) are also standard. -sgcarmart.com
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines badly needs this car. The current Lancer isn't getting the limelight it deserves with the current crop of its line up. The 2.0L is a good power plant but not every buyer needs one.

The 1.6L engine should give the Lancer a better entry level fighter, better price and packaging.

Good move from MMPC IMO as long as pricing is competitive.

Weird that this car is given an INVECS-II four-speed automatic transmission, given that the old one is already CVT.

Could be just marketing. The local Lancer EX Ralliart is the 2.0 Turbo AWD.

Having a simpler A/T transmission than the CVT would mean cutting down the price of the car. The CVT is expensive and not many people appreciate it's advantages.

Mitsubishi is launching the lancer EX 1.6L real soon in the Philippines. The price I expect would be around P800k to P850k for the base M/T and A/T models, but that is just my opinion.

Until now, I still can't stand the looks of the lower end variants of the Lancer EX.

I wish MMPC at least gave the GLS/GLX Lancer the 18" rims and skirts like on the GT-A or on the sampled pic above. The ducktail looks neat too - the car doesn't look lacking even without the large rear wing.

Kakalabas pa lang ng 2.0L Ralliart TC-SST dito sa Pinas in place of the Evo X. Malamang matatagalan pa dalhin ng MMPC dito yung 1.6L Ralliart edition.

Whoa! That's affordable. Too bad MMPh let Hyundai build a firm base to their compact Elantra before introducing this. I hope this is not too little, too late yet. I still prefer this over the Elantra which drives like a huge subcompact (not substantial feeling imho during test drive).

That's coming from a resident SA sa mitsulancerph. My guess is this is like what they did sa Cedia. 685k ang published price pero may 47k discount for both installment and cash basis purchase. I'm now really contemplating in trading in my Cedia for this EX. (Siyempre M/T pa rin).

    Dibaaaaa.

Feeling ko yung rims and kits talaga. Ang disproportioned kasi tingnan ng Lancer without it.

^ As per the brochure, its the 1.6L MIVEC Engine (4A92). 4G18 yung sa Cedia na 1.6L din afaik.

Also, DOHC na din yung 4A92, so I believe FC will be better.
