For those na may edad na, remember way back sa 80's may kumakalat na rumor na si mall R sa dressing room na mga girls may hidden passage with in nawawala nalang daw yun mga ibang girls tapos kinakain kaw kasi ng isang malaking snake na kampal ng anak ng mayari ng mall R? People got scared and tried avoiding that mall R and from that moment onwards mall got low turn out na during weekends and people went back to going to mall S.

We have 2 monty sa family namin although quite distrubing this issue is pero hindi naman nayayari sa amin or sa mga forumers here na 1st hand experience. We enjoy using both gls and gtv on a daily basis and thats the big factor. Its fun to drive( normal driving ), comfy to ride and its safe vehicle to have.

hehe, naalala ko nga yang Mall R na yan. Pero suwerte daw kasi ng family yun kaya hindi natsutsugi. Balita nga naman.

its my first reply after 3 years na ata. I just want to share our experience with our montero. We had a big accident last sunday. I never thought it could happen to us, our montero gone crazy, it revved up so high that our driver could not stop it until it hit an innova, we were all traumatized by the experience. I dont think its driver error because we hear the engine revving like its on steroids. now i believe that its true, before i was just laughing at the issue. this has cause us a lot of stress and unnecessary expense, we are still on negotiations with mitsu phil., hope this doesnt happen to anyone else, its scary as hell. for those of you who doesnt believe its true, i dont blame you, but if you personally experienced it then you have our sympathy.

Sorry to hear that, hope nobody suffered injuries. May I know which casa did you brought your monty and who is the mitsu-phil representative your family is negotiating with regards to this accident.

thank you for all the replies and advices, we havent signed any waiver. we are still clueless on how to handle our misfortune, mitsu phil had sent engineers from the planta but they told us to wait pa daw. they already got the police report, interviewed our driver. the accident happened on sunday oct 2,2011. there are things i dont want to say, because some may be offended. by some you know who i mean. for now we are just waiting and trying to contact with other victims. Our unit is a non vgt unit, gls se.its at union motor edsa balintawak.

so out na rin yung issue na naninibago lang yung iba sa turbo, kasi nangyari din sa non vgt unit.

As I have mentioned in one of my previous post here on this thread, I made an experiment of my own about a month ago. I just want to share my experience and elaborate further and maybe it could be of some help.

On a safe location, I drove at about 40 km/hr. I then floored the accelerator and after about 2 seconds slammed on the brakes with my left foot. I was able to stop the car as if the engine was not even there. Note that the accelerator is floored the whole time until the car was in full stop. I tried this twice and I had the same result. On my third experiment, from a full stop, I stepped on the accelerator and the brake at the same time. The car did not even move.

Anybody can try this if you doubt my observations. Just be careful though. What I have learned from my experience is that the brakes is a lot more powerful than the engine. If revving is experienced, perhaps the driver is stepping on the accelerator, if he is not, the brakes will stop the car no matter what. Now, the only issue is if the driver got confused with the brakes and the accelerator. Note that in the U.S., there were some SUA cases that were proven that the brakes were not even applied at all before impact.

I know anything is possible, just sharing my experiences and maybe this might also help you in your own personal investigation.

Naku, pati pala yung 302 cc. engine meron na din suudden acceleration case. I thought sa 250 cc. lang. Hopefully hindi mangyari sa strada which has exactly similar engines as the monteros.

Read from different board na meron na rin strada happened at greenhills parking area but dont get alarmed coz its not a first hand experience so we cant confirm kung totoo o hindi.

Yup, its not an SUA case. The driver and its passenger were drunk at the time of the accident.
