Parang imposible mangyari yan. Pag baba nya para buksan ang gate, dapat naka-neutral yan and/or handbreak yung sasakyan so dapat di yan aabante. Baka may multo? Hehe

Ano kaya ang police blotter nito? Perhaps the police also got the montero's side of the story.

Not impossible. Exactly the same incident happened last year, unfortunately, the driver passed away. Not an MS but an Altis. The ride is A/T and the parking has a bit of an incline. Nagmamadali for an appointmennt, forgot to open the gate. Went down the car, put the handbrake ON, seems to overlooked the tranny still in D. Can't believe at first but accidents happen under certain or combination of circumstances...

I have a high school classmate who i knew bought a Montero a few years back. During our reunion more than a year ago, i asked him why he bought a new Fortuner since i knew he already had a Montero. He told me that he sold the Montero and bought the Fortuner because he got involved in an accident with the Montero. According to him, he put the transmission in Park while he waited for the light to turn green. He shifted to Drive while stepping on the brake when the light turned green. The Montero suddenly accelerated overpowering the brake and unfortunately hit a pedestrian who was a few feet in front of his car. Luckily, there were no injuries to the pedestrian but his montero had light scratches on the hood near the front bumper. He sold the Montero and bought the Fortuner. He had no clue about other drivers of Monteros experiencing sudden unintended acceleration until i told him about this thread.

I personally have no brand loyalty but i had 1 nissan (datsun), 2 hondas ( civic, CR-V), 1 Acura MDX ( when i was still living in New York) in the past. I currently drive a 2003 Honda Accord and a 2012 Mitsu Pajero BK. I have no issues with my Mitsu Pajero. I personally recommended my younger sister not to buy a Montero last year because of this thread and my classmate's experience. My elder sister on the other hand owns a 2011 Montero and so far so good.

Will my Pajero be my last Mitsubishi? Probably not. But one thing is sure, I am not going to buy the current Montero nor recommend it to other people. As for the latest generation, i would have to wait and see....

curious, when he sold the montero did he tell the buyer the real reason why he was selling it?

Sudden acceleration overpowering the brake, pedestrian was not seriously injured (Thank God), this do not add up. I'm not saying it's not true but it shows how complicated this issue is. Maybe the SUA event seized abruptly as it started, saving the poor pedestrian.

Yeah, DTI should start to investigate LTO. LTO has been giving license to idiot drivers all over the country.

He experienced SUA on his Montero Sport. Photos was said to be taken immediately after impact with engine still running. Please take note of high RPM even with A/T on Park with no ignition keys. Looks like a runaway diesel engine. Can anyone explain this?
