From the sound of it, that's exactly what happened. Driver shifted to "P" at the light, thought he was in "N" and accidentally shifted into "R" when the green light came on.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Park light then flasher light? You mean hazard lights. You were at a stop light and the other car was on the opposite lane yet you were beside each other. The car ahead went forward then suddenly reversed. Huh?
Don't think Mitsubishi has a fix for stupid drivers. Not yet anyway.

sorry po for the term hazard lights daw po pala ang tawag doon. baka nga malamang human error lang. cge po, yun lang po naman ay nakita ko from the outside so baka nagkamali yung driver. peace po.
then why so quick to jump into this......" i dont think its human error since the montero was at park light so the driver could have sensed something is wrong with his montero."
and what would mitsubishi look into? stupid drivers, or stupid morons who keeps on reviving a dead issue!!!

And one more thing, sa mga pareho kong naka matic, you should be familiar of your stick shift, when to use your shift lock.. P to R requires you to use shift lock but N to D dont. And one more, you should always depress brake pedal while shifting. In this case, if SUA is true then ur safe, at least. You'll have time ti shift to N in case your car wildly revs while your in R or D, which again doesnt require you to use shift lock.
Another sudden acceleration incident caught on video...
0:16 - 0:18 Tires spinning and smoking = Sudden Acceleration

Inside the service center? Wonder what country that's in. Still falls within the possibility of the driver error / pedal trapped in carpet situation, if the vehicle was coming in from the parking lot.

There's one vid, however, in the suggested video box linked to that one that shows a classic mechanical failure:
Unintended acceleration of the car - YouTube
That's true SUA. Not coming straight from a stop. No change of foot position on the pedals or shifting of feet to trap the pedal (driver already knew he was on the gas, as he was accelerating at the time) and no shifting. The car just suddenly went berserk.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
This was last year. Montero was cruising southbound. Attempts to stop failed and the driver was forced to use railings and eventually steer it underneath the overpass.
Driver is a septuagenarian with other elderly persons in the same car.
At this point we would need to have a measure of comparison against other vehicles as to why the Montero is being singled out. At the very least insurance companies should be concerned.
The automotive press seems to lean towards whomever advertises with them.
human error lang in my opinion, tama yung sa post sa previous pages na malamang gas naapakan tapos nung nag surge na diniinan pa lalo thingking they're stepping on the brakes. marami rin naman monty dito sa amin sa iloilo wala namang sua na incident, merong monty dito nag sua, nung dumating mga pulis para mag investigate lasing ang mokong. pwede naman siguro pag me presence of mind pa yung driver just flick it to n mula sa d kung nag sua nga, or if they claim na they're steeping on the brake na atleast kahit d mag stop yung monty babagal siya sabay flick to n or twist the key off
why only Monty? how about siamese twin Strada, bakit wala ni isa? hmmm..
