If I may ask sir, where was the position of your foot before you mistakenly step on the accelerator?

My Sister had a similar case of SUA just last January 2018 and there were i jired people involved (around 13). 12 of them were minor but one was major. Long story short, the cost of all hospital and medicine bills our family shouldered is already in the millions range.
So we're just trying to get even just a little bit of money back but Mitsubishi, as expected, is denying any technical issues with our 2010 Monterosport.
Don't get me wrong though. I'm not here to debate about if SUA is a fact or just driver error. I'm here to ask if there's anything else we can do to at least get compensated? Is there a class action suit that we can join?
Well if driver error as you mentioned there will be no compensation for it.

There's no way you can claim compensation if it's driver error.
I understand that you'll take the word of your sister and believe that she didn't panic and mistakenly stepped on the accelerator thinking it was the brakes, but there have been absolutely zero conclusive tests to show that SUA is real.
If it were, it should've been reproducible under the right conditions. A far more plausible but way more bitter pill to swallow is that all SUA cases are simply driver error.
The ergonomics of the pedal placement of the Montero is one thing, but again, driver error.

TS already said, he wasn't here to discuss sua veracity.
he was asking, what avenues are available, to help in his relative's hospital bills, etc.
How about TPL Insurance? It applies to third party injuries or damage, right?

Yes, but this is a bit different. My Sister was parked and was on the brakes the whole time because she was waiting for my Mom to get in the car. When my Mom got in, my Sister switches from P to D (which you can't do while the brakes are depressed) and the car started accelerating with full torque.
I know most of the people here won't belive that and I completely understand as I was not a SUA believer until this very incident. But I just to lay the story out. No bashes/flames please
Yes, that's one thing.

2010 Montero? You can still shift from P to D without stepping on the brakes with that model. 2012 up lang yung kailangan tapakan yung brakes to shift from P to D.
So your sister could have been stepping on the accelerator all along when she thought she was on the brakes as she shifted from P to D.
