Good day everyone, tanong lang po. Specially dun s mga owners na ng mirage g4 or mechanics. Im planning to buy mitsu mirage g4. An autoshop owner told me.. the mirage may overheat quickly since it has 3 cylinder engine. Kahit daw brand new pa.. may snsbi p sya na meron daw pwede tanggalin sa kung ano mang parts yun (nakalimutan ko tawag) to avoid overheat. Totoo p b ito? Gusto ko kasi tlga ang mirage g4 and of course i want to be sure bago mag next step.. thanks po in advance.

    Bwahahahaha....!!!
let me guess... he wants you to have the thermostat removed?

i have had a 3-cylinder minicar for over 3 years now. we drive it on a regular basis, even on the expressway. it does not overheat, its aircon is good, and it gives me 9-10 km/li in the traffic-strewn city.

sorry about the bwahaha.. couldn't resist.

The AutoShop owner you known, is just misleading you. Binibigyan ka lang nya ng maling info. And I don't know why.

there are over 30,000 mirage and g4 owners in the philippines alone. never heard of one engine death. the 1.2L engine is offered in many other countries.

which autoshop are you talking about?

The mechanics auto shop/repair. He said (the owner) the engine of g4may may overheat easily as per experience they had with one of their customers. And i was like "really???" Because i still believe there are hundreds of people wanna go with g4. Including myself.

This shop is located around pasig. And the owner mentioned as well.. that we can remove something (a part of an engine) to avoid that issue. Nakwento nya pa, that customer has a brand new g4 na nag overheat blah blah.. sa casa inabot ng 100k plus ang estimate.. then that customer brought that car to their shop and estimated only around 26k. So i was thingking.. if this is not a rare case then tons of g4 will have the same issue. Pero wala naman ako nbabalitaan aside from that story..
