Lets put ig in a bigger scale;
If you will run at around 50km per day, the possible fuel cost difference in a year is around 20k. If 100km per day = 40k Php, so on & so fort.
If you can shoulder this amount, then why bother with FC?
Worry if you will chose between 1.3 vs 2.4 engine, this will give you big difference.
My Montero 4D56 M/T averages 10-11 kilometers per liter with 90% heavy traffic city driving. On pure highway at speeds averaging 140kph, it does 13-14 kms/liter.
last holy thursday, i was able to log 9.8 km/l on an average speed of 34 km/h today
route: makati - la mesa ecopark - makati (via buendia, edsa, commonwealth ave then back to commonwealth, edsa, rockwell, makati avenue)
aircon fan speed at 2, temperature at 22 degrees
ride is a 4d56 VGT GTV

Ano kaya FC ng Montero GLX 4x2 A/T non VGT and GLS 4x2 A/T with VGT.
Need your feed back also in performance.
I did an out of town yesterday with my new strada glx mt. My FC is 13 km/liter considering its under 1,000 kms odo.
I think my driving habits helps a lot to obtain this FC. I'm only using the maximum turbo boost during overtaking manuever then i get back to cruising speed of 90~110 kph afterwards which is around 1,900~2,200 rpm.
sir what s the top speed n nagawa mo smooth ride ba hindi gano ramdam s loob n mabilis n sya?
and 1 more ? sir x wind about s cabin filter ng monty meron b non vgt ? nabasa ko kasi s kabilang thread s """2011 Mitsubishi Montero Sport [continued]""" mga page 299
2nd full tank since i got my 2012 non vgt a/t - 9.95kms/liter. Sana magadjust pa after 1k pms. I travelled 583kms and gas up 58 liters. Coming from petron to unioil, ramdam agad yung smoother engine run. Mas tahimik nga unioil compared to petron
'91 L200 (4D56 engine)
13 km/L
Route: Pasig-Fairview-Laiya and back (360 km round-trip)
Mostly highway driving (SLEX, STAR Tollway, provincial highways), tried to keep it at around 80-100 kph for majority of the trip. Going any faster than this really stresses the poor old engine.
9.6 km/L
Route: Katipunan-Taft-Tagaytay-Fairview-Pasig
Mostly highway driving as well, but got stuck in Manila traffic for a little bit. 100-120 kph on the highway and frequent overtaking on the provincial roads (oh boy, overtaking with something as slow as this is a painstaking process). Had to floor the pedal most of the time to do this, awfully stressing the engine, resulting in the relatively dismal consumption. I was resigned to thinking the truck's too old to be efficient, until I did the Batangas trip described above.
Yup I agree. I thought my 1996 L200 is old but after having my injection pump overhauled and nozzle tips cleaned I get a 10 km/litre city driving and 13 km/litre highway driving.
Im interested to know whats your odometer reading? mine is 327,000km Im also interested on the repairs done on your L200.
